Almost bought a bottle of Scotch at the store today out of curiosity since I've never had Scotch.

Whiskeys ok to me. Bourbon is meh. So I decided not to buy the Scotch since it figured it's similar. Plus I don't know what the good brands are.

Me too, I’ve got a couple of single malts and some Eagle Rare bourbon, all of which I enjoy, but nine times out of ten if I’m in the mood for something whisky-related I’ll go for the Makers Mark. Makes a good Old Fashioned too...
