Whiskey is essentially fermented beer minus the concentration

Its why they go together so well

Rum is fermented fruit lol - straight jungle juice son

Vodka is the closest thing to pure alcohol which is why they call it water in Russia

Beer is nasty tasting while whiskey is delicious, explain that smart guy.

To put it simply, rum is made from sugar cane (which is a grass, not a fruit) and Vodka can be made from a variety of grain. Corn, wheat, rye etc... as is whisky.

Rye in beer or whiskey is amazing.

Corn is not a bad ingredient for bourbon but isn’t what I want in beer.

Rum is destillated Molasses, which is a sugar cane byproduct.Rhum agricole uses straight sugar cane juice
Most Vodka is destillated from grain (mostly wheat) just like Whisky, just not barrel aged.Although some is still made from Potatoes.

Grains = Whisky
Sugarcane = Rum, cachaca
Grapes = Brandy

If their land & weather wasn't so barren & desolate, people who made whisky would rather have brandy or rum.

Vodka is just potatoes with extra steps. Why go through all the fuss when you can just go straight to the dealer.

Where i come from brandy is made from prunes. What about scotch? Is it synonymous to whisky? And cognac?

That's a very simplistic way of looking at things.

Beers are fermented with yeast, which will not survive past a certain level of alcohol level (I think they die around 17-18% alcohol). Whiskey are distilled, while cheap whiskey uses a process called continuous distillation, premium whiskey uses the traditional more expensive method of pot-distillation, and depending on the shape of the pot, you get different flavours, which gives certain distilleries their own characteristics.
