...aren't we also debunking Nate's accomplishment? Either Conor was good and Nate has another legit high level victory or he just squashed some McChump hypetrain and deserves less praise and reward? Or is the truth in the middle?

Yes but they are not Nate fans.

I think no one in Sherdog had a Nate av until now.

Not really.
Nate came in from a vacation in Cabo and had 10 days to train.
Took care of business ended a hype train and moves on.

Nate is good - Conor is good, but not in the hyperbolic sense some of you believed.

There has always been a lot of support for both Diaz brothers here, and of course many detractors.

Nick is the one who got most of the love.

Nate was forgot after the RDA fight.

Nate has much more impressive wins then the loud mouth McGregor

Great win for Nate considering the circumstances involved.

That said, debunking 'Cloner''s skill isn't discrediting Nate. Instead, it's being honest about the holes in his game. Cloner was able to utilize his advantages which he's highly skilled in, against lesser men to a significant degree and to great success. When he wasn't the bigger man and able to bully them, he got bullied. That simple.

Conor was too hyped up. Of course Nate didn't beat some beast #1 p4p... some people are being exaggerated but it happens in any defeat, especially the way the fight went.

There's nothing else that needs to be said about Nate that wasn't said before the Conor fight, though. He's incredibly durable, a great striker, ready to fight at all times and has wicked BJJ.

Conor was objectively and mind-numbingly overhyped.

Conor is good, Conor's striking fanboy fanatics who already stated emphatically that Conor was clearly more skilled than Jones/was revolutionizing the sport etc. deserve this backlash lol.

people worshipping nate are like people who bought bernard pollard jerseys after he tore tom brady's ACL.

What @lsa said. It is more the that Diaz derailed the hype train after just coming back from vacation with no preparation of note whatsoever, after Conor was calling him a fat skinny guy and stuff.

Look, a lot of unbiased fans said tht Conor's weakness is grappling, wrestling, and bjj before Diaz. After March 5th it was proved. There's no "debunking" it's all proof in the pudding.

Conor picked Nate, not the other way around. Nate stepped up on very short notice and ate Conor's best shots, spit them out, and bitch-slapped him, literally, before choking him out and changing his bum life.

Moral of the story: Be careful what you wish for.

You're as good as your last fight. It took Conor 13 secs to stop a guy who hasn't lost in over 10 years so therefore Conor had massive push going into this fight. If Conor KO Edgar at UFC 200 in 30 secs the hype train is back. MMA fans have the memory of a fish.

Or is the truth in the middle?
it's this. conor isn't as great as he was telling everyone (which most people knew already), but at the same time he's a beltholder at the weight class below and a legit striker. so good win for nate.

Nate has always been fun to watch
glad to see him making some real coin now

But sadly Nate has never beat the champion or anyone in the top 5 of his division. I hope after this fight they give him a title shot as I think with a full training camp he will do good against RDA.
