Which way do you eat grilled cheese sandwiches? With PICKLES? Or with TOMATOES?

I was talking with @mb23100 over in the sandwich thread and he'd never heard of grilled cheese sandwiches with dill pickles. That's a very common combination where I live so naturally I assumed he must be insanely poor or maybe from Europe. He said he eats grilled cheese sandwiches with tomatoes WTF?!? I never heard of that. So I googled "grilled cheese sandwiches with..." and the first popup was for "TOMATOES." *mindblown

Grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes sounds weird to me but I'm gonna try 'em now. But grilled cheese with dill pickles will always be my go to sandwich.


So which are you?

I don't eat grilled cheese sandwiches very often, but tomatoes go really well with cheese (see pizza for reference) and I love dill pickles, so I honestly think you should put both in it

I'm gonna tell you guys how to make the best grilled cheese sandwich.

2 pieces of bread with a slice or 2 of american cheese in the middle (or whatever kind of cheese you like) and several dill pickle chips (like hamburger pickles) in the middle, then butter the outside of the bread, throw that sucker in a frying pan until it's very lightly charred on both sides, then take it out, add salt, and enjoy. I promise it's awesome
