Which REALLY struggling top fighters are still your boy?

charles oliveira. he has all the tools to be really great.
He isn't struggling imo. Just fell victim of bad fighting habits that his opponents capitalize on. He's still a beast. Probably top 5 best BJJ in the UFC right now. If he can "Maia" his opponents from now on he'll reach the top soon.

I agree with most of this. I think he is struggling. his BJJ isn't close to Maia. Maia is patient and focuses on transitioning to better positions and controlling his opponent before trying submissions. Oliveira had Pettis' back like 5 times and let him be on top on guard everytime... he really has these holes in his game that fucking cripple him.

Conor fans are just retarded. NOt even when Conor executed a masterpiece of a counter punch technique, they find a way to try to lower and diminish Aldo.

You guys just don't want to respect him right ? Why is that ? Fighting Flaws my ass. Conor was smart and took his chance and it paid off, Aldo did nothing wrong except underestimate Conor's quality.

Sincerely, Conor brought in this new wave of fans that can't respect fighters for shit. Once they lose by KO they're crap fighters. Aldo is a legend for fucks sake, a loss ain't making or breaking him, he proved his value a lot in the past.
Woe there cowboy take a breather. Literally nowhere in my post did I say aldo is "a crap fighter". Literally I was addressing that posters illogical statement. He said all fighters have flaws except aldo, mm, and stipe. First off all fighters do have flaws including all on that list. But Aldo was especially obvious because 1 fight ago he got KOed in 13 seconds. Meaning he made a fighting error rushing a counter fighter like that. Oh and if it makes you feel better big boy, conor has flaws aswell clearly.

Well i'd cut him some slack cause Pettis's bjj is very underrated and he was flying in that fight. Oliveira seems to not realize what are his flaws, but the talent is there. He's too good to be losing fights like that one. He needs to put his mind more into it again (and stop missing weight :/)

All fighters have flaws but I'm guessing he meant major flaws that stick out as glaring weaknesses rather than just making a mistake on a specific occasion.

I dunno why he didn't list DC then though, DC has no glaring flaws and is amazing.

Fighting flaws in a 10 year undefeated guy that has always been one of the most complete fighters ever. Makes sense, isn't like he got caught by a very good set up by Conor.

Name one. I'll wait. or more especifically, name THE fighting flaw that got him KO'd in 13 seconds;

Weidman, Still my booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooy!

Carlos Condit. My heart hurts when I think about how he's been doing lately, but if he decides that retiring is the best move for his health, then good for him and I hope he enjoys life with his family.

Brown, Arlovski, and of course, The Chris.

Can they be outside the UFC as well?

Melvin Guillard is someone I've always liked.
JDS
Moose (although he avenged his loss)

JDS and Moose aren't struggling like the people in the OP are...

Struggling to be a decent human being. Still my boy.

He made it through a hit and run bro, have some decorum.

If Ronda loses again, she'll still be my boy, hespect.
Feels like Fedor is struggling too.
Jojo Calderwood, I think fits

Pettis. Like if you watch his losses he still looks pretty good. It's not like he's getting starched round 1 over and over. Close fight against eddie. Competitive against RDA, broke his hand early against max and still fought well. Needs to start working on his boxing with a good boxing coach.
Go train with Snake.

Conor - in the last year he got the shit beat out of him and submitted. Then he had another embarrassing showing where he literally was running from his opponent and was given a majority decision. He looked good in 1 fight in the entire last year. He was stripped of a belt that he didn't have the confidence to defend for a year. He is struggling so much that he doesn't want to risk defending his belt and won't fight for a year. After his break we will reflect back about he has one good fight in 2 years.

Looking at JDS' record he looks like hes doing fine, but all his fights post Cain 2 have been so much worse than before, he went from invincible to just above average and he has looked beatable in every fight. 2011 JDS would have crushed Overeem and we saw how that went with current JDS.

Machida ... FFS

I consider Fedor retired. I know it's totally delusional but he's just a dead legend to me (glad he's not dead- hyperbole).

Overeem

Travis Browne ... psych!

Ross Pearson was a good prospect with an exciting style whom I have been a fan of since his days on TUF. Will still be a fan regardless until he decides to hang them up.

WAR ROSS "THE REAL DEAL" PEARSON!!!

My biggest MMA goof was predicting he'd be a future champ. Dude is such a good offensive striker, but gets his bell rung a lot and doesn't have much finishing power

Jessica Eye top fighter?
<{1-2}>

She used to be considered a top prospect/borderline contender, beat Kaufman who was ranked top 5 (win overturned to NC) and lost a close slightly controversial decision to Davis who was top 5. Getting grapplefucked by Tate and Pena twice in a row probably ruined her as she became completely timid afterward, she still looked okay early in the Miesha fight and actually attacked instead of shadowboxing.

Condit.
Brown.
Weidman.
Mir, though the PED bust hurt.

Pettis, Jon Jones (struggling in life) Matt Brown, Charles Oliviera

It's like watching a young Brandon Vera all over again, difference is Pettis got excuses lined up before a fight now.

Jessica Eye. I don't care how many fights she loses, I'd still eat that booty like groceries.

He needs to leave roufusport. find a place where they have a boxing coach that can improve his boxing.

Rafael fight was not competitive.

50-45 x3.

Lyoto, plus his suspension is so fucking unfair.

<2><2><2>

RDA. I genuinely feel bad for him and think he's had the worst year of any fighter. An unstoppable looking dominant champion who missed out on the biggest opportunity of his career when he was unable to fight Conor, and then proceeded to lose the belt in the first round vs Alvarez, then get outclassed by Ferg. RDA is still my boy though and I hope he can bounce back again, but mentally he could be broken.

Arlovski 3 fight losing streak and was finished early every time
Vitor 1-3 in last 4 and finished early every time
Matt Brown 3 fight losing streak all finishes and 1-5 in last 6
Melendez 3 fight losing streak and 1-4 in last 5
Pettis 1-4 in last 5
Jessica Eye 4 fight losing streak and 1-5 in last 6

Arlovski is still my boy. Tumenov though, he lost to Edwards, a fight he was clearly on his way to winning. I like Keshtov, but Tumenov needs to move camp. Khabilov is my boy too, he isn't exactly struggling, but he keeps winning decisions (Silva and Saggo fights were pretty uneventful)

Pettis. He's definitely not past his prime yet, he's just had a lot of tough fights and has been continually changing camps.

I'm addressing how you said most top fighters have flaws EXCEPT Stipe, MM, or Aldo? You said personality or fighting. Clearly aldo has a fighting flaw that got him Knocked out in 13 seconds. Shouldn't be mentioned with MM.
people get hit on the button, jeezus. it doesnt mean he has massive holes in his game. Unless we want to say that no one ever has been a wellrounded fighter. Stipe got starched, too. So did Lennox Lewis. This isnt some recurring thing, until it begins to re occur.
