Serious question. Never ever watched Fedor fight and never watched Pride back in the day. I've looked at his resume and there are some obvious names I reconize and know are legit wins, and there are some names I reconize but not sure if they are considered "legit" wins. Then there is a bunch of names I don't know at all.

He got in to a ring and fought in all of his fights. They're all legit.

1st person to call Fedor a can, can crusher or the likes should be.....

Half his opponents were legit top fighters

Half the others were either freaks.the thing is though that even against the lesser opponents he looked like a monster. He did things to them that should be illegal :p

The thing is that when you beat everyone and you stay active you run out of people to beat...

He had a win of Ricardo Arona that was debatable but otherwise all of his wins are extremely legit. The only mark on his record was how after a point he kept being matched up with people who had no business fighting him. Guys who were sent in so we could see a slaughter.

I was just talking to a buddy about this.

There are a hundred dudes out there trying to discredit Fedor and his resume for a litany of reasons, but the fact remains that that kinda streak at HW against top ten guys will never be repeated. Even if only 1/3 of his fights at his peak were against top competition that streak will never be repeated.

1st fight against Coleman and his fight against Lindland would have been different if he hadn't been able to grab the ropes with no penalty at all.

Fedor was the greatest fighter of the previous decade, ahead of Chuck, Randy, Wanderei Silva or anybody else for that matter. All of his wins are legit. Like Ronda Rousey he fought whoever was available to fight at the time. He was the first Conor Mcgregor as far as self promoting , not nearly as good a talker but certainly a legit fighter. If he came to the UFC today there are still guys who could beat , im not sure if he could become champion but he would still be a top contender. To answer your question , all his wins are legit

I guess that's more the point of my question. How many of the guys that he fought were actually legit fighters themselves and considered a threat to Fedor? I'm sure Nogueira, Cro Cop, Hunt, and Arlovski were all considered legitimate threats, and I'm sure all of his wins were legit I didn't mean to suggest they weren't. So I guess my original question should have been how many of Fedors opponents were legit fighters and considered a threat to the great Fedor?

Mirko was his best win Probably followed by Nog. The two of them were way better than any other heavyweights at the time. Then, of course, later in his career he destroyed former UFC champs in Timmeh, Arlovski and Coleman

Put it this way:
Nog - top 3 HW all-time
Crocop - top 5 HW all-time
Ricardo Arona - 3x ADCC champ, 13-0 in submission wrestling, Pride GP Runner-up, 2001 Rings Champion
Renato Sobral - 2nd degree BJJ black belt under Carlos Gracie Jr, former Strikeforce LHW champ, UFC LHW title contender
Semmy Schilt - 12-1 leading into the Fedor fight, 6'11 250lbs, best K-1 kickboxer of all-time
Heath Herring - top 5 HW at the time, had recent wins over Mark Kerr, Tom Erikson and Igor Vovachanchyn
Kevin Randleman - 2x NCAA wrestling champion
Mark Coleman 2x- Olympic team wrestler, NCAA champion
Naoya Ogawa - Olympic Judo silver medalist, World Champion Judoka, 7-0 with 100% finish rate and 5 first rounds subs leading up to Fedor fight
Mark Hunt - K1 Grand Prix champ, wins over Wanderlei Silva and Mirko Crocop prior to Fedor fight
Matt Lindland - Olympics wrestling silver medalist, NCAA champ
Andrei Arlovski - former UFC HW champ and top 3 HW
Tim Sylvia - former UFW Champ, still holds record for most title defenses (tied), top 5 HW
Brett Rogers - top 10 HW (though not for long)
Satoshi Isii - Olympic Gold medalist in Judo
Jeff Monson - 2x ADCC winner, wins over Kerr, Kharitonov, Rodriguez, fought for UFC title
Pedro Rizzo - former UFC champ, over the hill
Jaideep Singh - former K1 GP champ, little mma experience

I came up with the following, the kind of record he might have had if he fought his entire career in 'current' UFC - it takes out the mismatched opponents or squash fights that happened duing the crazy NYE events in japan.

This resume is still as legit as any fighter to have ever competed in MMA.

Fedor 23–4 (1)

W 23–4-1 Pedro Rizzo
W 22–4-1 Jeff Monson
L 20–4-1 Dan Henderson
L 20–3-1 Antônio Silva
L 20–2-1 Fabrício Werdum
W 20–1-1 Brett Rogers
W 19–1-1 Andrei Arlovski
W 18–1-1 Tim Sylvia
W 17–1-1 Matt Lindland
W 16–1-1 Mark Hunt
W 15–1-1 Mark Coleman
W 13–1-1 Mirko Filipovic
W 12–1-1 Tsuyoshi Kohsaka
W 11–1-1 Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira
NC 10–1-1 Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira
W 10–1 Naoya Ogawa
W 9–1 Kevin Randleman
W 8–1 Mark Coleman
W 7–1 Gary Goodridge
W 6–1 Kazuyuki Fujita
W 5–1 Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira
W 4–1 Heath Herring
W 3–1 Semmy Schilt
W 2–1 Renato Sobral
L* 1–1 Tsuyoshi Kohsaka
