Which Jones rematch would look the most different...

Lol at Rampage, someone said if he came in with a smart gameplan he could land. Rampage only has one gameplan these days, wanting him to come in with a different one is like wishing he would come in and shoot jones with laser beam eyes, both are equally likely to happen.

You're actually right and in an interview with Helwani I believe he admitted he wasn't in such good shape since the rematch with Wanderlei but I was referring more to his gameplan. He seemed like he was head hunting and I think he would be more effective he tried to mix in his grappling and kicks but instead he just stood at range and absorbed kicks the whole night.

If you read the Striking Guys' article on Jones, he points out inside leg kicks could be effective against Jones as it takes away his stance and if anyone can capitalize I think it would be Rampage with his power. Maybe I'm reaching though.

Rampage has kicks now?

Shogun! That knee that he caught moving forward would have dropped any other fighter. It must have affected him through the rest of the fight. But I still think that Jones would win anyway but Shogun wouldn

I admitted it wasn't likely. I think Shogun has a higher chance of winning a rematch than Rampage but I think Rampage has greater potential against Jones given his TDD

More so to set up punches than to actually cripple Jones.

If you mean more competitive

I'd say vs Rampage

He'd come in more focused and determined

Machida, he's been improving his stand-up by not leaving himself open to counters like what Jones & Shogun took advantage of. Also, he'd definitely try to train more wrestling and work with Belfort on strategy while on his back. I don't think he'd win but he could very well go to a decision.

I love how Machida fans claim that with a full camp - he would befuddle Jones and beat him - you know, because with a short camp - Machida won a round from Jones.

Here are the FACTS. Jones had as much time to prepare for Machida as Machida had to prepare for Jones in their first fight (Jones was preparing for EVANS before he got hurt - a fact which Machida fans conveniently forget when they present their "logic").

It took Jones five minutes to solve Machida. If both guys have a full camp - I'll take the guy who has looked almost unbeatable save for an armbar from Belfort - over the guy who is a pedestrian 3-3 in his last 6. I'm sorry, but wins over Couture and Bader - two guys who don't offer anything like Jones - don't mean the Machida era is back.

The answer is Bonnar. He's retired and suspended. But if he wasn't - Jones would finish him. Just like Silva did. Only in less spectacular but more ass-whooping fashion.

I think Shogun would come in more serious now that he knows that Jones is the real deal and the champ. Also maybe he would not get caught with a big knee in the first seconds of the fight this time around (Only matters if it affected Shogun in the fight). Also Shogun seems to be the master of rematches. I see Shogun making it much more competitive a second time around but most likely losing again though.

Machida fought Jones when he was already the champ and knew he was the real deal. I think Machida was almost as prepared as he could be and did look good in the first round but still could not handle Jones. I think Machida would have a very similar outcome in a rematch.

I'm a big Machida fan but I still don't think he'd win a rematch.

I give all the credit to Jones for impressively defeating Machida, it was a fair fight and the better fighter won. However, I do think Machida would do better in a rematch. You can see what I said above but basically I believe Machida could make improvements and come back better.

Matt Hamill of course, because Jones would destroy him.

2nd would be Rashad or Belfort rematch, only because Jones would more than likely win in more convincing fashion.

Machida is a close 4th, because he does pose a threat to Jones in at least some aspects. I don't think Machida is enough of a threat to defeat Jones in convincing fashion, but he's the most likely in my eyes to have some crazy crap happen to go his way (and to capitalize on it). While I think Machida would be better than he was when facing Jones then, Jones would be better as well. I'm not sure who would improve more. That's what makes Jones so scary; he's good, but he gets better as fast as anyone else at LHW.

Everyone else I think Jones would still run over like roadkill, although I'm not sure how Jones could top his deflating destruction of Rampage.

Shogun always wins a rematch, so lets wait for that :)...

When considering most different, then id say shogun. He looked terrible in his fight whereas machida n rashad looked ok.

I'm going with Shogun, too.

I still don't think Shogun can beat Jones, but I certainly think he wouldn't lose as badly....lol.

Lmao!!
This

I think jones could beat Hammil this one and avenge his horrible loss to the hammer.

His skillset has improved to the point where he won't have to cheat to fight Matt.
