If the UFC implemented a ONE style weight cutting program where you can't be higher then 5% of your weight class, how would the current roster look like?

DJ would be at 135 and they weight class would be even smaller because every BW and FLW cuts a lot.
TJ would be at 145
Max would be at 170 along with many other large FW
Khabib would be at 170/185 depending on his diet.
Tyron would be at 185, 205 if he bulked.
Robert Whittaker would be at 205
DC would be at HW, along with Rockhold, Yoel, most MW are 200+ walking around so they would be small heavyweights.

These are just champs, most fighters would get shuffled up 1 weight class.

I don't understand the "higher than 5% of your division" part.

Is Mighty Duck taller than 95% of the Flw's? Is DC the big LHW who would be in trouble, rather than those a head taller than him?

I think TS meant that your weight at some point can't be higher than 5% above the class you want to compete in. or something like that.

Conor could make a legit run at 170 if there wasn't weight cutting.

All the champs would just be the champs of the division up. The LHWs at HW would be the only interesting thing about it

Most fighters would move-up about the same so it wouldn't matter. You'll still have the same guys together, only the name of the division would change.

The funny thing is Jones could possibly stay at LHW if it was just withing 5%. He has fought as low as 216LB before

Oh, I see. I don't know what that rule would solve though.

Firstly, how would you even control this? Secondly, wouldn't all the weight cutters face each other in their new div anyway?

Weight cuttting was a big advantage when only select guys did it. Now that everyone is doing it there is no reasone to continue, it puts needless strain on the fighters bodies.
