When replying to this question several initial variables spring to mind for consideration:
1. Overall cardio/endurance
2. Average fight time
3. Average pace/fatiguing nature of one’s fights
4. damage taken
5. replicability of style with two inevitably fatigued opponents meeting in the final.
I’m ideally looking for a fighter known for cardio, who finishes fights quickly (known for cardio and quick finishes are often conflicting attributes), doesn’t take much damage, and can impose their style even when fatigued.
Izzy springs to mind if he is more aggressive. Despite having some contentious decision wins, apart from the Gastelum bout, I have never seen him walk out with much visible damage.
Islam could be good too, due to his ability to seek quick subs.
Cyril Gane perhaps, but I think he would have too many 5 rounders.
I think Volkanovski could do well with his style, but recent wars suggest his fights are too gruelling.
I like Jamahl Hill at light heavy weight. He has a grappling weakness but he is a legitimate one punch finisher and could win 3 in a row very quickly if lucky.
Petr Yan is too patient
