Not asking who is the best fighter or most popular/likable out of these, although the second part might factor into it. Which current fighter with world class credentials in another combat sport do you think has increased MMA fans' appreciation of their sport the most? For example -

BJJ - Werdum, Jacare, Maia
wrestling - Cormier, Romero, Cejudo
kickboxing/muay thai - Overeem, Hunt, Jedrzejcyzk
judo - Rousey, Lombard
boxing - Holm
catch wrestling - Barnett

Who is the best ambassador for their sport?

Fedor- Sambo

First thought: Werdum (literally world class credentials, actually world champ in BJJ and MMA, and holds submission wins over the greatest fighters in the history of his weight class putting to use his credentials)

Judo - Karo
Muy Thai - Anderson
Jiu Jitsui - Joe Lauzon

Karate - Machida and now Stephen Thompson

Ronda, I mean just look at her resume. JoJed is also an awesome representative of Muay Thai.

Oops..! Shit. Current.. Sorry about that. Good thing I stopped there. I was gonna add more, but they would have been dated.

How about

Kung Fu- Big Country

I swear that has been what his fighting style is listed as..

Maia -BJJ

Maia has the bonus of being one of the biggest purists since most of those other grapplers are also comfortable standing up while Maia is all about the ground.

Maia.

When he first took up MMA his striking was beyond awful. It was so bad, I honestly expected him to be run out of MMA years ago. His striking skills have evolved considerably since then. I'm not saying he's K1 Maia now, but he's vastly improved since he first started.

Incredible BJJ skills, fought as an undersized MW until he found his rightful home. If by chance there was a WW who would test his BJJ skills against Maia before, the one-sided clinic he ran on Gunner probably put that to rest.
