BJ penn, I watched bj penn figh vs Matt hughes the third one when he knocked matt out and leave the cage then vs Jon fitch a big wrestler n my grandmother's house in argentina 2009 and remember thinking man this bald head is incredible so much passion and violence. There was a big size dif vs fitch and was very impressed how Bj penn dominated the first round

I didn’t particularly become a fan of the sport by Conor himself, but me and I know a lot of guys my age started to watch MMA around the time McGregor had a lot of success.

He for sure attracted a lot of eyeballs to the sport and he helped to lift it to the international level it’s on right now

Right, Conor is indisputably the one who brought the most fans to the sport in total; he achieved commercial success on a far larger scale than anyone else. Not nearly as many even knew about the sport before him; also, the notoriety and fame (and money) that Khabib has would be far lesser without the Conor fight.

It is worth noting though that Conor was enabled to do that by the success of those before him; he didn't make the sport like those before him.
