Tony, Mas, Nate, Pettis, RDA, Till, Lawler, Gaethje, Leon Scott - every relevant name out there having a win over Cowboy just didn't make it a very exciting fight or a telling accomplishment of where Conor's at these days.
Add to it the context of it being an intimidated, limping, too prideful to wrestle version of Cowboy in his 5th fight in 12 months after 2 back to back stoppage losses... I still cringe even when scroll by gifs of that garbage.
On the flipside, I think the Floyd fight was fine. If anything, the boxing world should be embarrassed. Conor had no business doing as well as he did and all those gobshites saying Floyd carried it -
- carry this and go fuck yourselves. Conor should've been stopped within one round, much less winning anything. Fact that the judges were shitting their pants and already fucking with the score cards just cemented for me how goofy of a sport boxing is. It's good in movies - I could've watched a 100 of those Rocky flicks - but in real life, it's one of the most boring sports to watch.
I'm only salty Conor wasted his talents and time on that world, instead of giving us more iconic MMA entertainment when he was at his best. But as an event, it was fine. Dude actually made people dream bigger by finally getting a cross over like this done.
