Which feat would be more impressive? McGregor or Cormier being a two weight champion?

If Cormier does beat Stipe, is he the more impressive two division champion?

Wins against Rumble x2 , Gus, Volkan, 3 title defences and beating a dominant HW champion as well. A loss to Jones though which tarnishes his status to some unfortunately. For me, Jones cheated so the fight doesn't count in my mind.

Conor on the other hand beat Aldo and every other FW bar Edgar on his way to the belt. Beat Alvarez easily but most people recognize that Eddie was not even the best LW at the time. 0 title defences and doesn't look like defending soon.

Cormier is a better champ than Conor is.

Stipe is also a better championship win than Alvarez was at the time.

So, Cormier.

Eh, Cormier fought his number 1 contenders first and didn't lose to a gatekeeper in the process of becoming a two weight champion.

Cormier has fought and beat the majority of the LHW division, I don’t mind him moving up to face Stipe.

Cormier by far. A legitimate champion beating a legitimate champion.

Cormier. That guy has defended against top contenders. But both have the balls to move up and fight a legit champion.

What Cormier has done at Light heavyweight alone is already more impressive than what conman did years ago.

Cmon its Conor.

He beat the P4P and number 1 FW of all time

Alvarez a top 5 LW of all time and one of the most accomplished MMA fighters ever.

He did it in less than 10 mins and flawlessly.

His FW title run is nothing short of magnificent.

Comier hasnt even beaten the best LHW in his division yet.

This Sherdog Conor hate is damn pathetic, recognise greatness.

The guy who actually defended his belt first

Rumble, Gus, and Volkan aren't better than Chad, Jose, and Dustin. DC's HW fights I wouldn't really give him an edge either. DC's great, but he's also fighting in the two weakest divisions in MMA, at the tail end of his career so the potential is always going to be skewed.

I'd say there close to even at best if DC can win, but if Conor was to defend against Tony or Khabib and win, there's really no way DC will ever be able to pass him. Even if he was to beat Jones, a lot of people would question the validity of that win because of Jon's prior PED use.

The "best" LHW got caught for cheating twice.

Cormier hands down....

He already defended his belt.

Conor won his and went to become the strip-strip

Cormier, mostly because he's defensed 1st and he's taking on a record setting HW champ. Alvarez was great, but he was pretty unproven as champ

How he beats him would actually matter. What was impressive about Conor wasnt that he beat Alvarez, he absolutely starched him. If Cormier can go in and do to Stipe what he did to someone like hendo, it'd be a huge deal. If he grinds him down and split decisions him, less so.

Guess you forgot the part where he was in peak condition getting choked out by 11 day notice Nate Diaz in between plus the 25 min close rematch that followed.

More like 42 mins plus a tap and decision!
But hey that LW shot was warranted! Lol
GTFO

Cormier By a mile, at least he faced tge top of the chain over and over.

2 of the most stacked divisions vs. 2 of the most shallow. Tough choice.

You also need to consider how good Stipe is relative to Alvarez. Stipe is a dominant champion whilst Alvarez had zero defences and was pretty shaky in his fights leading up to the one against RDA.

He's beaten 3 LHWs. Cormier is legit as they come, but lets not overplay his accomplishments just because we dont like the other guy.

I'm not a big conor fan, but lets be honest here. Dc is the paper champ. Jon Jones is the real champ, and I don't even like jon jones! Dc had his chance twice... Still Dc gets more respect for actually fighting and defending his belt.
