which champ had the worst ending ?

Jens Pulver had a ROUGH run in the end of his career, dropped 9 or so in a row and was getting stopped by no name guys on regional shows at the end.

And since he was champ in the dark ages he needed to fight for money, which sucks because he really didn’t belong in there.

Ken Shamrock has to be be considered

On purely title fight? Weidman and Aldo were bad but RDA beat the fuck out of Pettis for 5 rounds. Shit was a horrendous beatdown on one of the most popular guys ever at LW at that point.

I think its between bj penn and hendricks:
Hendricks after losing to an ex pornstar in Bare Knuckle fight but before that he had only 1 w in 6fights and his steak house went bankrupt.. now nobody remembers him, only his 30k followers on IG
Bj penn drunk with a losing streak of 7 fights and getting knocked out by a random fat hawaian
Hendricks lost to a pornstar!? That's rich. I was gonna say aldo. But yeah that takes it.

Anderson started losing after drug testing... St Pierre called it quits soon there after. If Anderson could have kept doping he may have stayed relevant.

Anderson could not have continued doping if even it was allowed as his balls and penis have shrunked too small already as a side effect of Peds and his dick cant shrink any further.

Same thing started happening to Chael.

Now Its seems Chael stopped Using for some time and managed to get his dick size back hence the weight gain.

Weidman's CTE was necessary wtf, Chuck's wasn't tho.

Weidman just got rekt in the middle of his career by top comp, no shame there.
My opinion on this is probably outside of the mainstream, but here's what it is:

The good money in MMA mostly only comes with being an upper rank guy who can be featured in big fights. Once that's out of reach, it's time to retire, regardless of how much a fighter loves being a fighter. Back-to-back and/or frequent KO losses signal that it's either gone and not coming back, or it's never gonna come in the first place.

Weidman didn't start getting KO'd in the middle of his career, he started getting KO'd at the end of his short and very successful, career. There are instances of guys managing to turn it around after taking some ugly losses, but it's not common, and gambling on that with the fighter's brain at stake is not worth it. It's a better choice to call it a day and get a head start on a new career.

When MMA vets age into their 50s and 60s I suspect there will be a terrible reckoning for the sport.

GDR won a title in a weight class set up especially for Cyborg, then refused to defend against her and was stripped. She's lucky to still be in the UFC.

Renan Barao has to be considered.
Gotta agree with Barao, he went from unbeatable to losing to everyone. I remember a few fights after his reign he was lost to some random guy on the prelims and he gained no interest for a while when he was a free agent. Tito, Chuck and most others could still sneak into a high profile fight somewhere even now at least.
