I have only bought one car new, that was the 2002 Dodge Stratus. I will never make that mistake again.
Most of the cars were never more than a couple grand, some were under a grand.

Plus I'm a broke ass now

Why did you buy so many cars in such a short period of time in the 80's? It seems you bought multiple cars in one year and bought cars every single year. Looking back, do you regret it? You bought 4 cars in 85, wow.

I use to drive a 2001 ford focus zx3

Those are the yrs the cars were manufactured. Not the yrs I bought the cars.
I didn't turn 16 till 1992.

Although I did buy probably 7 cars before turning 16.

My Father was laid on/off for many yrs, so to supplement the lost income, he bought and sold cars. He would take me and a pocket full of quarters (pay phone $$) down to the docks of the local newspaper and we would buy freshly printed copies of the local paper (classified ads) before anyone else.

He taught me to buy and sell..... long before Craigslist..lol

Not bad. Lazy, but smart way to make money lol.

It sucks to rain on your parade, and I'm sure it's a nice car so I hope you enjoy it, but you absolutely made the wrong choice for the class. Not only does the Corolla have worse MPG than it's other classmates, it also has less power and the interior isn't anywhere near up to par. The exterior is rather dull as well, you really should have done a bit more research IMO, I don't want to come off like a jackass, but you wouldn't have gotten that car if you did. Toyota is going downhill in quality very fast, it's just the fanbase hasn't caught up yet.

No good with pics but here's my long list.

'69 Camaro when I was in high school. '87
'64 Cadillac Coupe de Ville
'75 Jeep CJ5
'82 Subaru GLF (bought it for $100)
'92 Toyota p/u
2002 Toyota Tundra 4WD limited edition

Yeah I agree, it drives pretty much like the CRV. Terribly slow with no power at all, but still beats it with the mpg.

But we just went to the dealer blindly concerned for just cost. Plus we needed a car for as a quick emergency, and my mom never buys used. Also my mom's friends with the dealer and he got us a no down-payment lease for $260.

I have yet to legitimately own a car, because I'm still a student.

First car: 1993 Jeep Cherokee

Car through undergrad years: 2003 Dodge Neon

Car I drive now: 2005 Ford Taurus

One thing you should always remember is that other dealers are willing to beat the competition. So if you tell different dealers what you received as an offer, chances are they will try their best to match it. 260 lease doesn't actually seem that impressive, unless it's a very short lease or the car is the highest trim fully loaded.

That is the king of the compact class right now, the interior is absolutely amazing. The interior admittedly looks as good as my Mercedes, which is a huge pat on the back of Hyundai. Not to mention best in class mileage and very good motor.

The Civic isn't a bad choice either.

However, the deal is done and the ink is dry. It's a Toyota so it'll do what you need it to do. Enjoy it and ignore my rambling.

1. My first car I got in HS at age 15, 1989 Chrysler New Yorker Landau. 3.3L V6, Automatic, 4 door. Leaky gas lines (Caused horribe MPG), leaked from the crank seal and blew up on the highway the day I graduated HS... on a bridge... in a one lane construction zone... during rush hour. Scary experience, I loved the car, and I teared up as it went on and off the wrecker.

2. After my New Yorker blew up, I had no wheels. So my dad handed me the keys to the 1998 Nissan Quest chilling in the driveway. I stuck a badass decal that ran all along the bottom, and some nice hub caps and it was driveable. Had absolutely not a thing wrong with it, and no rust (unusual, for a NE Ohio car.) Sold it to my buddy for $800 so he could get back and forth to school, and work.

3. Next up, my first stick-shift car, and I won't willingly go back to an automatic. 1997 Ford Escort. Red, four door, Southern car (NO RUST!) Beautiful, fast car. Switched up the appearance more to my liking and loved it. T-Boned by an Exploder at a notoriously dangerous intersection (known for accidents, caused by people who fly through doing 70+ ignoring the 35mph sign, and blind spots).

4. After that I eventually got ahold of my dads 1999 Ford Escort ZX2. He'd given it to my brother, and in the time he'd had it; the muffler rotted off, and an idler pully fell a part, chewed up the timing belt, through off the cams and the timing. I fixed it, got it running, tuned it up and stuck a glass pack under it. Then after further inspection noticed that it'd sat so long the frame was rotten.

5. I traded my ZX2 for a 1994 Honda Accord with a SOLID frame and body, plus got $100 on top. 2.2L F22B VTEC engine with a 5-speed. I fell in love with it. Except... passenger window regulator didn't work, drivers corner lamp was missing, suspension was shot, riding on cut springs, bad struts, no brakes, and an assortment of different issues. But hell, carbon fiber hood, 2.5" cat-back, plus VTec and 5-speed? Shit, I'd just fix it up the way I wanted it... Yeah, didn't happen. Still pissed... I ended up losing my job and had to sell it. Sold it to my buddy for $400, he's been rebuilding it back to OEM as a commuter vehicle for himself. I wanted to hot rod it.

6. Currently; 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GX. Black, 2.4L, 5-speed; Canadian car (speedo and odometer read in km rather than MPH). Bought it off my older brother for 2k. Love it. But recently have found the rear frame is shot. Rusted out, full of holes. I was gonna finally get my hot rod. Heartbroken me. </3
