Which book would you want to adapt to a movie or a TV series?

There has been talks about this for like 30 years l. I doubt it will ever happen, and that makes me sad…. The “Brothers” trilogy would be great if they managed to change a few things. Couldn’t be a straight adaptation without all the earlier stuff with Harry being explained.
I think Morgan Freemans production company bought the rights some years back but has been silent since.

That gives me a bit of hope then. Didn’t know that.

They could really do something great with the source(ha!)material, though maybe the continuum stuff would go over some heads. The vampires are by far the coolest and most unique imo. Went by “Vormulac” online when I was a git. Depressed and betrayed by love lol

I'd like to see a proper version of The Stand.

TV series was alright but very American 90s daytime stuff, you know?

Most of the ones I'd love to see have been mentioned.

Joe Ledger series
The First Law
Red Rising

Would also love Dungeon Crawler Carl. This would have some wild set pieces and out there sci-fi, so think it would be best as a mature animated show like Invincible.

The source could be one insane movie/season. Read it in one sitting the first time.

I would want a nice cable series if anything. It is too much to cover for a single movie, and they are bound to really mess it up. No other way around that.

Haven't read The Source in about 20 years, but I still rememeber a ton of it. Poor girl(siggi?) getting tossed off the bike and ending up being the white lady in future books for the wolf-lord. Man, I love that series.

I'd like to see Timeline by Michael Crichton get adapted into a movie that doesnt fucking suck, same for Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, the MCU people coulda done amazing things with that book

The dark tower but done properly game of thrones long series style. Not the garbage movie they made. What a pile of shit that was.

F the dark tower and Steven King. When I finished the last book I chucked that book across the room and was mad for like a week.

Through the eyes of the dragon done in like long form for a season like true detective or something would be awesome though.

Oh HELL yes. Book 5 literally just arrived at my place this morning.

Some others:
Thieves World
WildCards
Kings of the Wyld/Bloody Rose
The Nina Wilde & Eddie chase series by Andy McDermott
Jack West Jr series by Matthew Reilly

Would also love Silmarillion as a multi season show but probably impossible.

I just finished book 5 and my son finished book 6. This is the first book series he's read where he is ahead of me. He's 15 and devours books, so this will probably be the first of many. The smirk on his face when he knows a secret spoiler that I don't know is priceless.

I would buy whatever streaming service if a proper dark tower was on it. Hell id resubscribe to cable
Amazon is doing a series with Mike Flanagan helming. King is also writing and contributing to the series.

Yea they even redid it recently and it was even worse.

I'd like to see Lord of the Flies done as a TV show but with kid actors that's going to be tough.

This one, but only if done right with a solid budget.

I remember reading a manga when I was in secondary school.

A badass kid lived in a village and ran miles a day, as the villagers tried, and failed to keep up with him. A band of arseholes attack the village and the leader challenges anyone to a one on one fight, which the kid accepts. The arsehole beats the shit out of the kid, making him bleed out of his orifices with the use of pressure points. The kid goes away, trains by doing handstands on one finger, then comes back and beats the shit out of arsehole with the use of pressure points.

I can't remember what it was called, maybe Brutal Child Abuse, but I'd like to see a film adaption of it...

Hyperion.

It would need a pretty good budget though, make each episode a 90min as the book chapters are character based.

A movie wouldnt work
