Where would you rank Stipe on all time UFC HW?

Someone like Cain who beat peak JDS, peak Bigfoot 2x and peak Brock would have been ahead of Stipe with just a little bit more longevity.


There are levels to this shit. Stipe is still top 6 all time HW which is an amazing accomplishment but other guys have better wins over all time greats at their peak.

Barnett was 33 years old and made it to the Strikeforce HWGP finals. He was 8-1 in his last 9 going into that fight with his only loss coming to Big Nog. If he wasn't at his peak he was damn well close to it.

Who gives af? Every single person stipe beat in a title fight beats that version of Barnett. DC’s heavyweight resume is not great and to not mention the eye pokes in the stipe fight is crazy

Literally every all time great Stipe ever beat was either green or washed up. This was addressed in this thread. All you gotta do is look at the age and the records of the guys who are considered Stipes best wins after he beat them.

This isn't a knock on Stipe he's a top 5-6 HW of all time but he has never beaten an all time great in their prime and lost to every all time great who he fought in their prime.

Francis was 31 with 12 fights when stipe embarrassed him. I guess stipe’s win over prime francis is one of the best wins in heavyweight mma history. Nice!

And also, since stipe had exited his prime before the rematch, francis never got that win back and his win over stipe is worth less. I’ve learned so much today! Thank you!

Francis was an African striker from France with 3 years of training. Silly to compare that to Stipe who was an all American wrestler and golden gloves boxing champion who had been competing in multiple combat sports for over a decade.

The thirst is strong but the cope is weak brather.
