With the CM Punk on the horizon I find myself asking that. All of his fights were against nobodies and he cherry picked some of them. Maybe some thougbt he'd explode after his shining performance against Punk, but that fight has seemed to do little for his fame.

And his last fight was against his toughest opponent yet. I didnt see the fight, pardon me, but I believe he got beat down by Randy Brown.

So do you think he has been exposed for only looking good against unworthy prospects? Has his potential literally already plateaued? He better not call out Erick Silva...

He's barely a professional, very green one. His loss was the only relevant fight he had.
Without Punk, he wouldn't have been in the UFC anyway for now.

He's not "exposed", he's green

Hopefully he's learning how to fight and simultaneously learning how not to be a douche.

Breakout fight for Gall was Northcutt, and he passed that with flying colors.

Everyone knew he was gonna steamroll. Punk, but against Sage it was a battle of two young welterweight prospects.

Dunno what happened to Gall. Seems to be fizzling out already.

Is Sage Northcutt at 70 really a test? Northcutt is miles away from being a decent LW, let alone a WW. Both Northcutt and Gall are guys who could use way more seasoning against low-level opposition before being thought of as relevant fighters.

Both would probably be better served outside the UFC fighting much more frequently. Well, maybe not Northcutt. Northcutt would probably be better served maxing out his paydays while he can as I don't think anyone around him has the patience or wherewithal to develop him properly (and that's assuming he has the talent or mentality to be anyone relevant, which I'm very skeptical of).

Improving so he can compete with actually talented and proved welterweights? Who knows.

Sage was doing that though, he's 5-0 against irrelevant guys in lightweight. 0-2 at welterweight.

The fact that he's not talking hella shit in defeat, and not calling out "money fights" on twitter, makes me think he his more of a real martial artist than most give him credit for.
Maybe he is just handling his loss like a true student and getting ready to shock us inside the octagon instead of on social media...

Gall lost to Randy Brown. He's a young guy with tons of potential and a legit groumd game.

I will always be a Mickey Gall fan because once you're a Goonie, you're forever a Goonie.

Never saw that fight. How badly did randy brown dominate him?

I know he has potential, I'm just startled by a couple things. One he fights a bit infrequently. His last fight was like 7 months ago and before that he hadn't fought for a year. Whenever his fight gets announced that's another 2-3 months give or take, I don't see him taling a short notice fight.

Is he injured often or just "honing his craft."?

Second he started to make a career off of callouts against beatable high profile names. It's just funny because Randy was the least famous and Mickey couldn't handle him. I wonder to what degree he resented that matchup and I'm also curious who and when is next.

Would have to assume he is in the gym training so he can come back improved.

Remember when he had a smug look on his face and called out 5 year retired Dan Hardy thinking he was clever?

He didn't look great iirc. He had a decent showing in the second round but ultimately lost 29-28. Wasn't dominated but wasn't a world beater.
