Which is and was too manyThere's been about the same number for about 6 years now.
Which is and was too many
The most popular names during the last 6 years were ex strike force or WEC, or part of the UFC old guard for the most part. This is a problem for the UFC casual base. They don't recognize many names since conor's reign. So essentially who was prominent during, or before that

The number of guys on this card coming off insane highlight reels is beyond impressive:
Schnell coming off a FOTY comeback against Sumudaerji
Dolidze coming off a KOTY candidate against Hawes
Genardo Valdez coming off two just bleed classics
Francis Marshall coming off a beatdown of the year performance on DWCS
Tuivasa and Pavlovich both coming off very solid performances
Pearce has run through his last 4 opponents
Seriously if you haven't seen Dolidze vs Hawes, Sumudaerji vs Schnell, Valdez' last two fights, or Marshall vs Connor Matthews, just go watch those fights immediately.

At this point the UFC should just dub over Wonderboy with some sort of trash talk for their promo's. The man is just too nice.
I heard he’s planning to drop a couple N bombs. Word on the street hard R’s
The UFC has become the WhoFC?It's a good fight card, but I still think more casual MMA fans don't know who many of these guys are. It's a problem the UFC will continue to run into because of the bloated roster.
Too many fighters are on the roster
I agree, those three are the most popular of the recent fighters. But I feel I still can't bring up any of those names around people and they understand who I'm talking in the same way that we used to bring up Conor, Rousey, or GSP. Definitely not in O'Malley's case and they pushed him the hardestI think some fighters are known to casuals since then. I'd argue that Khamzat, Izzy and O'Malley are three of the most popular fighters on the roster.
