So he was on a nice win streak in the UFC, 3 solid wins in a row. Then he lost a fight to Cerrone, who at the time was looking unstoppable at welterweight. 3 and 1 in your last 4 fights is good enough to keep your job. So where has he been since that loss???

The last time I've seen or heard about him is when he posted a picture next to this guy...




It's cool that this guy became a meme, but what the fuck did he do with Story?


Story isn't the greatest ever or anything, but if he's in this guys basement, being turned into a lampshade or something, I think we might need to call somebody. I mean....

Don't believe he was cut. His contract was up, signed with PFL cuz he believes he can win the entire tournament. Which equals a BIG payday.

It's a BiG gamble. If Story doesn't win he will make crap money there. Losing will only lesson his value to other organizations like Bellator and if course the UFC ( if they'd even take him back at that point). All or nothing is what he's betting on. Freaking big ass bet!! Just one injury and he's screwed. If the tourny falls apart he's screwed. Being a "new" promotion off the back of a losing money and failing WSOF, is also dangerous. Fighters there were complaining about not getting paid for fights.

Guess Story feels the UFC wasn't paying him enough compared to a big "pot at the end of the rainbow". He would still have to win four fights in a row. Not get paid very much at all for each bout till the end. Now if he did the same ,four more fights in a row in the UFC (because of his tenure and recent wins) Rick could very well be in line for ( or near). A UFC title shot. That would pay him much more than the PFL and open a lot more doors to make cash.

Seems like he was thinking on it pretty deep. He’s got a fallback career as a firefighter now and he said he’s got enough banked to take his time and choose what he really wants to do.

It would be cool to see him back in the UFC so I guess I need to unlock my basement door
