Where is Gregor Gillespe?

Gillespie and Gunnar Nelson are two of the most obvious cases in the UFC that would benefit hugely from dropping down a weight class. Remember when Maia went down to 170lbs and started straight up manhandling guys like never before? I envision the same thing happening to these two should they go for it.

A shame that we likely won't see either one of them actually do it - both are on record stating that they don't like the idea of cutting weight and all the problems on the long-term that come with it.

In Gregor's defense, that's pretty much what he was doing at LW. He was 157 in college, so 145 12 years later is gonna be tough. First round Lee is a beast too btw. Gregor was jabbing him up too

That kick likely ko's every WW tbh.

Gregor is an example of why you have to hand it to Khabib... The Russian has the same high-level, wrestling heavy style as Gillespie but has avoided ever getting flatlined by a superior striker. And you can add Askren and multiple other guys to this great-wrestlers-getting-sparked club.

But not the Pride Of Degestan.

Boy that FKL knockout loss really put a dent in Gregor’s shine. That shit was just too brutal to not constantly associate him with it.

Oh? Did anyone say fkl and Gregor can't fight their way to khabib the final boss of MMA?

Probably hanging out with Ryan Hall & Islam Makhachev trying to figure out which one them is can be the most overrated, & simultaneously inactive fighter on the roster.

Thinking about if fighting is really for him. Not a diss. If I got kicked my head like that I'd be considering a career change.

Condit's taken way harder than that and stayed on his feet

Guy was never into it 100% and just seemed content to fight p/t. Nice guy and all but when asked prior to Lee about going for the title he just kinda shrugged it off and didn't care.

He doesn't have the mentality to go further than he already is. He's 33 and already peaked IMO he cares more about fishing than fighting. And he's in by far the deepest division to boot.

His teammate got stiffened by Adriano Martins.

Nice job of crobar'ing khabib into this thread lol

I honestly thought gregor was gonna go on a little run. I was wondering why I hadn't heard any news. If you get viciously finished like that in highlight reel fashion it might make you question some shit too.

Seems like he's going the Ricardo Arona route, only he likes fishing instead of BJJ and surfing.
