Where has Taisumov's 'Boogeyman' reputation come from?

He's a fantastic fighter to watch because he always brings the heat and goes for the kill but he seems pretty unproven at a relatively high level.

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy and will always tune in for his fights but it seems like his reputation right now is really inflated with people saying he must be getting ducked right, left and centre by top 15 opponents. LW is really stacked right now and he hasn't beaten any guys even close to the top 15 yet.

Would someone like Lauzon, Guida, Lentz or Jim Miller not be the next reasonable step up in competition for him over a ranked contender?

He keeps having visa issues iirc. Easy to duck the guy when he can't fight in the US for a US based promotion.

I think he should rematch Prazeres but I'm also cool with your matchups.

He should date the boogeywoman then they can have boogeychildren and wipe their boogies

There are 3 boogeymans in UFC.

Tony Ferguson
Tyrone Woodley (He called himself liek that after UFC 217)
Mairbek Taisumov

People are scared to fight him. His visa issues doesn't stop them from fighting him in Europe or elsewhere, but they don't want that smoke.

He's in a similar situation to Usman in that he's one of the very top fighters in the division but ranked below loads of fighters that he'd beat. They know it and don't wanna fight him.

Taisumov got the "boogyman" reputation after it caused Khabib to miss weight at UFC 209 and ruin a potentially epic fight.

Man, even Cerrone declined the fight with Mairbek. The guy, that went to freaking Poland to fight undefeated prospect after what, a month and half since his last fight? He's been ducked by a lot of fighters. And btw, check his record, you'll see why.

He's a high risk no reward opponent; visa issues and a great chance you're gonna get ktfo by a no name. If you beat him, the non hardcores are like -

I personally think he's awesome but needs a top opponent to show he's legit. I'd love to see him versus John Makdessi

Dude got whooped by Prazeres and kept getting called on fouls. I don't see the hype. Beating debutants isn't that impressive.
