where does Stipe rank in all time great HW's

Fedor
Stipe
Werdum
Nog
Crocop

Stipe has the best resume imo. Plus he fights in the usada era which holds weight.

Fedor is still #1.

Just a question about GOAT. Not arguing against Fedor as GOAT HW or Anderson as GOAT MW but at what point does the end of a career affect GOAT status? GSP is without question the GOAT WW. If he came back and lost to Tyron, Maia, Thompson and RDA in a row is he still the GOAT WW? how long would that have to continue for him to fall out or would someone have to beat his defense record? Fedor had his losing streak and even his comeback has been questionable. Anderson has had a bad streak coupled with 2 PED offenses. does this affect their status in your mind or do you just look at their peak records and judge oof of that?

As far as the OP Stipe, Fedor and Sea Level Cain top 3 (wish he wasn't so injury prone) with Werdum and Big nog rounding out the top 5.

For me to be a GOAT it's consistency over time, so gsp loosing 6 in a row doesn't diminish his streak, but let's say woodley wins another few defenses and looses only a couple more times, he could take the goat title then. Like I feel in a few years if Stipe keeps winning he'd be the HW GOAT, based on his entire body of work vs Fedor's, while Cain's lack of fights I never rank him in GOAT conversation unless you mean GOAT potential.
But yeah 1ped suspension I'd overlook give him the benefit of doubt 2+ and your legacy is garbage.

1. Fedor
2. Werdum
3. Nog/Miocic

So either #3 or #4, depending on where you rank Nogueira.

Top 5, in that hes number 5 and i dont see an argument for him being higher that isnt a bad one

It doesnt. You cant erase peaks, and if in the twilight of your career you eat losses it doesnt really matter

1. Fedor
2. Werdum
3. Nog/Miocic

So either #3 or #4, depending on where you rank Nogueira.

Nogueira has a better resume than Werdum and Fedor so idk about this interchangable shit youve got like Nog isnt the clearest number 2 a division has.

Miocic is contending with JDS atm, and really JDS is notably better than Miocic careerwise. Leave werdum nog and fedor alone in this.

1.Fedor
2.Nog
3.Werdum
4.Stipe
5.JDS
6.CroCop
7.Cain

If Stipe beats DC or Cain, I will put him above CroCop in MMA. He is definitely in the top 5 along with Fedor, Nog, Werdum and CroCop.

Pretty much this right here. CroCop is my favorite HW fighter of all time so I'll admit I've got some bias here, but speaking with as much objectivity as I can muster I think Stipe still needs another big win or two to surpass Fedor/CC/Nog. Werdum, despite his decisive loss against Stipe, still also ranks above him imo, albeit slightly.

I would like to see him rematch Werdum. If he wins decisively against him again after beating Cormier and maybe 1 more top win I think you have a pretty strong argument for the top spot.

you know what the problem with ranking him now is? if he loses, ya'll rank him lower.

that's what the belt is for; contemporary rankings. all time shouldn't be considered with active fighters.

7 or 8 years ago people had Cain as #1 or #2. now they have him below CroCop & Nog. same thing happened with JDS.

introspection time: will you do the same with Stipe if he loses the next three?

I’ll put him in the top 5. Trying to say his exact number is pointless.
Agreed, and what's odd is that he's done it pretty quietly. He's just wrecking shop but until recently no one really talked about him much

is he in your top 3 as of right now
not yet.
But he is at the top, and I don't see anyone really challenging him for the time being (UFC HW's suck). So he has the potential to grab it for sure!
