Where Does Anthony Johnson Get His Power?

He gets his power by tapping into an unknown extra dimensional source.

I always just put the source of his power to the kind of punches he throws and putting his body behind them with good power technique.

After seeing Bader go out cold from just 2 weak looking ground and pound shots though.. This guy has something special in his biology. Where is this guy getting his power from? It's fucking unbelievable.

Same place Conor will get it from as he continues to go up in weight

Stiffness.

Do you see how awkward his kicks are? it's like he doesn't have the flexibility to kick so they are really stiff...Same goes with his hands he explodes with a stiffness.

He reminds me of a spring board, it's like his whole body explodes into one movement.

Yeah. Whenever he kicks it looks like he never stretched a day in his life. That stiffness is also what makes it scary, his kicks look like a baseball bat being swung.

Combination of:
  • number of fast twitch muscle fibers you have
  • bone density
  • bone size
  • individual athleticism
  • individual technique

Those five things, and those five things only, nothing else. It's not some intangible "it" factor that some vocabulary defunct degenerate will try to talk to their way through in an attempt to explain it. This right here, what I said, is the answer.

I think a lot of it has to do with that he actually commits his power to his shots. Most guys don't really put that much into them, on top of his natural speed and strength. Makes for some doozies for punches and kicks.

hes used to pounding heavyweights, sometimes more than one at a time

There is such a thing as heavy hands.

People discredit the notion all the time, but it exists.

In fact, you can spar with a guy who has awesome KO power, but can easily take it down a notch and go light in a sparing match, and then turn around and spar with a guy who doesn't have a whole hell of a lot of experience and he's trying to go light, but it's like he's trying to hit you lightly with a baseball bat. Just thump, thump, thump.

I've experienced it. I think most people who have done a little bit of sparring with different guys has.

athletic, explosive, puts everything into his shots.

I'm curious as to how he wraps and is allowed to wrap his hands.

The funny thing about that video is at the end they ask Rampage how he generates power for his punch, he says "put my ass in it". That is the same exact thing that the one of the hardest hitting boxers ever, Ernie Shavers, said. Ernie Shavers wasn't that big either. I think he was like 210 lbs.

Hasn't been with Henri Hooft for a very long time?

Yeah IIRC, Johnson has been at BlackZillians for a while now and Hooft has been there since its inception and if anyone can help a good power puncher turn into one of the heaviest handed guys in MMA history its Hooft.

Johnson and Hooft were together before backzillians, right? I think AJ has been under his wing for a long time.

I gave his wiki a quick look, I didn't see anything.

It's the amount of muscles he's able to get involved in the same motion.

I did the same lol. But most of the BZ camp is from ATT, but Hooft is not. I seem to remember Rumble starting at ATT, but could be wrong. But they may have worked together before BZ, but Google is not givinme much.
