It sucks. You talk to multiple doctors and specialists over the years and explain your symptoms, they send you here and there, do all the tests available under the sun but can't figure it out. And it gets to the point where they think you're just making it up. I stopped talking to people about it becaus they think the same. My boss thinks it's time to give up and just deal with it.

Since my early 20s, my fingers hurt when I click on a mouse. Over 20 years, its gotten worse and now its every single joint in my body. If I even bump my fingers, knees, elbow, anything, it swells up and I'll be in pain for months til it gets better. My back hurts when I sleep, I have to wake up every couple of hours to sit on a recliner, then go back to sleep, then go back to recliner again. I'm always sleepy and dizzy. My vision changed 20 years ago and been to a dozen eye specialists, neurologists, opthalmologists, neuro opthalmologists.

Done a million blood tests, Xrays, MRIs, CT scans, Ultrasounds..

I get leads and they turn up nowhere. Now the most recent one is a rheumatologist who thinks my uric acid is too high and I have gout. I've been taking allopurinol for 6 weeks and dont feel a difference.

get 100% off the drugs and eat a ruminant-only diet for 6 months. cow, deer, elk, sheep, goat and similar animals only, no farmed poultry or pigs.

you have chronic inflammation from eating toxic food

and when I say ruminant only, I mean meat, fat, bones, water, and salt. no vegetables or grains whatsoever

Yes, that's super annoying. Doctors see so many idiots and hypochondriacs that they just automatically assume you're one or the other.

I saw a doctor for heart pain and he said he thinks it's muscle soreness in my pecs from working out.

I'm like, you asshole! You think I don't know the difference between DOMS and heart pain? My actual heart, deep inside my chest and slightly to the left, hurts. It ain't my fucking pectorals.

Needless to say I didn't go back to that guy. But I've found most doctors do that to some extent.

OP, the rheuma diagnosed you with gout, so he must have done blood work. did you have high uric acid? gout is a form of arthritis and affects every joint, so who knows it could be that, but have you ever had a gout attack? they're not just general aches, they're extremely painful, like daggers stabbing you in the affected area. usually starts in the the toe and can affect other joints.

Never had a problem with my toe

My uric acid is high, rigtht now its 6.8 after taking Allopurinol. It was 7.5 or something before I started taking it.

docs don't know everything, some stuff you have to just try yourself, clean up your diet, exercise.

I've been feeling exhausted for awhile, all my tests are normal or close to it, nothing out of the ordinary. cholesterol is too high but other than that, not much. So, maybe it's just getting older or losing faith, it probably isn't directly related to anything other than that but I do wonder.

you'd think so but I had chest pains ever since i landed on some idiots knee doing wrestling drills (things like that made me stop training mma) and my sternum was out of whack. It still gets inflamed sometimes and when my heartrate gets going it seems to really bump into whatever is going on in there, it's painful as hell but I don't believe it's actually heart related. I saw some stuff online where other athletes had the same issue.

Also, i've had buddies go to the er for heartburn, convinced they were dying, had a stepdad who would convulse and spread his legs and scream, "nut cancer, i got nut cancer" that was 50 years ago and he didn't have nut cancer, he's still alive.

stick to the plan that your doc is giving you. and 6.8 is still high. try and get it under 6. stay away from high purine foods, stop any alcohol, and drink lots of water. what is your dosage of allopurinol?

edit: this chart is kinda fucked. is says to eat "sweets"? sugar is shit in general, and fructose is known to be bad for gout.

Not yet. They usually want to do an EKG and that always came back normal so they send me home with a pamphlet on stress management.

It probably is stress related, as it gets worse during stressful times.

I recently learned about a Coronary calcium scan. Unfortunately I can't get one without a doctor referral so I'll need to see if my doctor agrees to send me. But it would be good to have a little more info about my heart.

Hmmm... I have had a sternum injury and I've broken ribs many times.

i notice when my sternum gets aggravated by bench pressing i get that pain. First got it around 39, never had a single heart issue but it sure felt like it. The Sternum/cartiledge never heals so, ribs/ribcage are a funny place to injure. I had a couple broken ribs but they never hurt, the sternum is another story. Ali had a rib injury that plagued him for years.

Also, i hear mental issues like anxiety can cause chest pains.

yup, bingo, that would be my guess. the mind is powerful as fuck, i thought i was having a stroke onetime, went in to er, they gave me a sedative and I felt fine in 20 minutes. Before that, I had tunnel vision, like i had in my streetfights but I couldn't feel adrenaline at all, everything was hyper clear and it felt like everyone could see it on my face. panic attack they called it, which, i always thought was only for women. I told people before that, "i refuse to believe I suffer from bitches' shit".

i think meat might be worse for your joints. my joints hurt too but I ignore it or am able to ignore it for the most part. The more i move, the less pain.

Not me. The more I move, the worse it gets. I was told to get some Voltaren cream gel. I just started using it today. Not cheap either.

i use glucosomine, it worked for me in my 30's when the pains started, and I suppose it does now too only pain is just inevitable at some point.

Look how old people move and they look rickety, cautious to move in stilted motions so as not to hurt themselves, their balance always looks fucked too.

Also, my mentor had all sorts of old martial arts injuries, work injuries and he moved like a young man into his 70's. The older generations just were tougher.
