Bisping is a warrior. If someone messed up in that fight, it was Herb Dean. He should have stopped the fight there, Bisping took only unnecessary damage after that.

He messed up with the premature celebration, but honestly it looked to me like even Herb Dean wasn't sure about what to do for a while.
The celebration gave Bisping extra time to recover (not Bisping's fault). Without that extra time, I don't think Bisping could even get back to the next round.

Looking at the gif again I think it is possible he could have got one clean shot in as the bell was sounding as Bisping was slumping down against the cage. However, he made a tactical error walking off, just like Bisping made one.

Nah, BJM is good. Herb Dean has been atrocious for the past two years.

I swear Herb's reputation as a good ref is based on the one good call he made when Tim Sylvia had his arm broke, as well as Dana propping him up as the best after the falling out with BJM, years ago.
