Tell Dana up front. "HEY I want a light media schedule for this fight. I really need to concentrate on my training."

And if Dana said. "Sorry Conor. But we're going all out for UFC 200. There is going to be an entire world tour and you will be steering that ship! It's going to be a hell of a circus."

Conor: "Well I don't really want to over extend myself. The whole word tour with Aldo and then RDA was exhausting. Put me on UFC 201 instead or 202."

Now Dana would either say.

"AWWW come on Conor it's going to be great! UFC 200 NEEDS YOU! we will work on a lighter media schedule for you then. Make some changes if we have to"

Or Dana says. "OK Conor. I understand the media stuff is taxing and you probably want a bit longer to train. See ya at UFC 201 or 202"

But to me it just seems that Conor agreed to the media circus beforehand and then just decided last minute that it was too much. Why didn't he hash things out prior to signing???

Because he found out he was in over his head during camp.

with the presser in vegas coming up, he didn't want to face Nate and be asked potentially humiliating questions.

Why won't people admit this? I don't know....

BUT he was in over his head prior to signing the damn contract! He knew he was going to have to stare Nate Diaz down in press conferences around the world. He knew this beforehand.

If he wanted a lighter media schedule. He needed to negotiate this prior to signing.

It's cause he had never lost on that level before and he assumed he would be mentally recovered from it by now. But now that the media circus for 200 is beginning, Conor is realizing he needs more time imo

I think they do, but they don't like to admit it. Or maybe they don't and they are just that naive.

100%. This is perfect. He starting believing his own hype and put the UFC in a corner. He should of learned from the Ultimate Warrior.

He already knew he wasn't gonna fight Nate. He only agreed to the rematch, because if he didn't, he'd look like a major pussi ducker. He went into the agreement knowing he wasn't gonna follow through with it, and found an out for himself before the fight.

It's like being put on the spot in front of a bunch of kids at school, while some kid challenges you to a fight after school. You're scared, and know you don't want to, and know you're not gonna be there, but you're in front of all the kids in school, and don't wanna look like a punk and say, "alright, let's get it on then, bitch!"

The whole day, you're sweating bullets, and thinking of every excuse not to show up after school. You finally say, "you know what, I forgot I have to go to my sister's baby shower. You're lucky punk! If it weren't for that, you'd be dead!"

Same thing lmao.

Wow if that's what he did. But that's just speculation. If he didn't want to fight Nate. He should have just said. I need to defend my 145lbs belt. No one would care. It was Conors request to fight Nate. Even asking it be at 170lbs again. So I find it hard to believe.

Possible, but that would straight make him a sociopath knowing his fans would buy hotels, air fare, take vacation days etc...

Conor doesn't seem like the ducking type. When Aldo got injured. He fought Mendes. When RDA got hurt he fought Diaz. His reputation says he takes on all comers.

Don't bring evidence or sanity to McGregor haters.

Tons of fans would be calling him a pussy for not trying to avenge his loss against Nate. Think about it, he calls himself a true warrior, and only cares about fighting, and has a warrior code. He will "die" in the cage. How would he look if he didn't try to avenge that loss? He's just not built like that, and fooled a bunch of us.

A true warrior would want to tear the head off the guy that just beat them. Ex. Chris Weidman. The guy was getting his face lit up with a gang of nasty shots by Luke from the bottom position, a.d not once tried to give up his back in order to stop the damage. He didn't once think of quitting or tapping. He wanted to tear Luke's head off for hitting him like that.

Soon as Conor gets into trouble he does everything in his power to squirm to his stomach, and stop the onslaught of punches. He was looking for a way out, and couldn't take the punches. Not built like a ride or die fighter. He essetnially gave up as SOON as the going got tough. He didn't take his whooping like a man, and he gave up his back immeditaly so he'd stop getting hit. He tapped within nano seconds of the choke being locked, and had no intention of fighting to the death like a Weidman or a Nick Diaz would do. He's just not built like that.

Look at the differences. Chris took a beat down, not once thought of quitting or tapping, and wants nothing but to kill Luke, and was genuinely PISSED after the fight, and just wants to tear his head off.

Conor looked like a lost puppy dog, and was just glad it was over, and wants nothing to do with Nate anymore. He found his way out of the fight, and he got it. He's not a true warrior like a Chris, or a DC.

He ended up being a fraud in terms of what we thought he was. Simple as that.

You really think Chris would pull out against Luke, because he has to do some media stuff??? Hell, I bet you Chris would fight him for half of his salary just to get the chance to get his hands on Luke, and beat him.

Totally different breeds of fighters. Conor really does remind of Prince Naseem. The moment he gets his butt whooped, he quits, and takes his ball home. LMAO, Conor fans will never admit this.

Not that simple.

He's ducking the whole situation. Not the actual fighter.

I don't see Conor actually scared to fight Nate.

This psychoanalysis stuff is so tired. No one knows what he's thinking beyond not wanting to go insane doing media.

He does more media than anyone else except Ronda, who said she was fucking burned out too. He made a demand, they said no and now they have to play this battle out in public. Conor can't just cave in on this and the UFC has to do their thing too.

All of this "scared" or "ducking" stuff is ridiculous.

I would take it at face value but not with this timing...

your looking at "scared" and "ducking" as extreme.

It's not extreme and it is kind of expected if you take into consideration the amount of pressure the fighters go through...

Conor fights guys in a cage with tons of people watching and he has to deliver massive interest every time out. He's had more pressure on him in his UFC run than just about anybody.

It's only upsetting to me because so many McGregor haters run to this that it makes actual discussion almost impossible.

Conor cracked.......he ran his mouth too much.....and could not back it up vs Diaz.

I was really looking forward to Diaz II, even though it made no sense. Now Conor's retirement makes even less sense.......

Where are the multiple weightclasses champ statements now Conor? You only lost once in the UFC and look how you react....

I am really curious what the Conor fanboys have to say.....

This is so pathetic. People acting like they're in a personal feud with Conor that's playing out in public.
