I get being a fan of Strickland the fighter. Even in fights where he plays safe and loses, he shows some nice technical ability. But people who are fans because of what he says, tweets need help.

Of all the fighters to "bow" to, a guy you had to chase around the cage for the entire fight — was known to ridicule other fighters when he wins — would be the last dude I would ever show any kind of respect to.

Sean got it right, when he was yelling in the Izzy's face, at the very end of the fight, because Izzy was running and hiding the entire time.

But then to turn around and bow at him, and put your head on his shoulder???

It's funny because you'd expect Khalil to be the point fighting, jab merchant who plays it safe and never goes for the kill unless he's fighting dudes who gas out after the first. A lot of karma coming Sean's way if he loses that title in a hilariously dull or violent way.

I like both guys however I can understand why most every day dudes and alpha males types like Sean would be put off by Rountree being openly emotional and maybe even consider him weird. But at the same time he isn't really meant to be relatable or understood by those types of guys. He's more meant to be relatable to the guys who were bullied growing up and have mental health issues. Rountree to them is like a super Hero and gives them hope that if someone like them could become something, it makes them feel like they can too.

This is a little harsh. He put the beating on Izzy for real. The knockdown at the end of the first pretty much sealed the deal. Izzy was concussed and a step behind from that point on. There was no softball victory there. Neither with his last few fights. Dude got better.

With that said. This is definitely an uncool post (also old), especially given the hypocrisy in that Khalil is a 10/10 on the "fighter manliness" scale. Would he beat Sean? Maybe. Sean is more experienced and polished and could probably shut him down, but Khalil is getting better too and has ridiculous power and a size advantage.
