When Gaethje said he was going to get KO'd in the UFC at some point, he really wasn't joking...

I appreciate the excitement he brings and how he approaches fights from a fan-friendly perspective, but god damn that's just too much. He's been KO'd twice now in the UFC, and obviously badly rocked and nearly KO'd in his one other UFC fight.

It's a shame because Gaethje is obviously a fantastic athlete with some true skills, I hate seeing him lose fights he could have won just because he wants to be a crazy brawler.

And most of all, I hate the thought of him ending up punch drunk with CTE after he retires. Don't want to see another Gary Goodridge situation.

So please Justin, for fucks sake you can still entertain a crowd by fighting a bit more conservative and taking less head trauma.

Didn't someone made a thread just the same as the title

Gaethje fights like a real man, you have fake champs like DJ who just jump around but no one wants to see that.

Yep. He also said he's only fighting five more times. Enjoy the ride while you can.

Being a brawler got him where be is, he probably has no other ways to win. He needs to take a shitload of headshots to land anything of his own.

I just wish he have some good defense, he's an entertaining fighter

His style makes him exciting, but it doesn’t make for a long career either. He would do much better with some striking defense, but the just bleed fans wouldn’t like that so much...

Yea people keep talking about Eddie and Poirier finishing him and the damage he took but MJ had him rocked and almost out at least on 3 occasions in that fight. He has taken a HUGE amount of damage just in 3 UFC fights, who knows before that how much he took.

I would be much more enterained if he used all his skills . Nothing worse the a Wrestler that turns into a brawler just for the sake of entertainment . A nice take down with some ground and pound would just add to the excitment . after all we are watching MMA lol .

It might be too late to reverse all those habits that got him to like 19-0 or whatever he was. I'm extremely impressed with the power on his kicks, but how good would his kicks be if he wasn't so willing to get punched in the face while trying to dig it in?

He has other ways to win though.

He has top notch wrestling and yet he only uses it to keep the fight standing; where his defense is not very evasive and he isn't very quick with his footwork when attacking.

I think mj was on the path to exposing his style the same way eddie and dustin did, but mj's cardio failed him before theirs did. Eddie looked to be in good shape and dustin got a big timeout after the eyepoke, and definitely found a second wind.

At this point I just want to see what his ground and pound and takedowns would look like. We know nobody else is taking him down and he's forced every opponent to fight his fight. But that formula has expired, I want to see him leg kick and shoot instead of plod forward looking for home runs. Why doesn't he just go kickbox if he's not going to mix martial arts.
