When Exactly Did British Boxing Take Over The World?

Reptilians took control of British boxing, though.

As far as I can tell Britain hasn’t taken over. The US still has the most fighters ranked in the top ten. If you include puerta rico (which is a US territory) that number blows up about 25 percent. As far as star powers concerned a guy like Spence is hard to look over, he’s the next big thing in my opinion. Not to shit on the UK scene, it has a very special culture and undeniable talent. At heavyweight yeah, the UK is the leading force out side of Wilder, Ortiz, and Povletikn.

Yea Puerto Rico doesn't count or else the common wealth would and that would skew the numbers even more.

A better question is when did the British public become so undiscerning.
When we didn't have the nfl nba or nhl to take the creme of the crop. So forever. Combine that with our population density and how many world class fighters we produce.

Then factor in that haye vs audley fucking Harrison did 700k ppv buys.

Yea.. You're right actually.

We havent "taken over" but we do produce a fair few high level fighters given the population size, and the support for boxing as a spectator sport has always been excellent here. Its one of the few places outside the US where a domestic fight can feel legitimately big.

Is that a joke? The Uk has the best 3 heavyweights in the world.
Wilder, Ortiz and povetkin would be ranked 5,6 and 7

Look at all the animosity in this thread.
I think you guys need another war to settle things.
Or just ye olde dust-up?

As a native Belgian, I will be the neutral judge in this, cause all our forces have ever done is to give up more ground than my receding hairline. I like you both, muchos gracias.

Fucking Germany, man ...

From the four major titles, WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO, here's how many of those straps lie with which country's fighters:

USA: 14

UK: 9

Japan: 7

Mexico: 6

Russia: 5

Ukraine: 4

Kazakhstan: 3

Thailand: 3

Puerto Rico: 2

Countries with 1 strap: Australia, Belarus, Canada, Ghana, Nicaragua, Philippines, South Africa, Venezuela

relevence is a big thing, number of quality boxers and quality of boxers is another big thing...
otherwise youd say by those figures that Japan has a much closer hold over boxing as the uk does to america.

Get that shit out of here, Wilder is clearly a close and dangerous second to Aj. Who are your other 2? I’m assuming Fury is one( I’d like to see him fight, preferably someone who has a pulse before I rank him), who’s the third? White? Bellew? White is basically the UK’s Big Baby Miller, a former kickboxer with a big mouth, and Bellew while looking impressive against Haye still has a lot to do for me to see him in the top five let alone 3.

Just your perception. We're doing better than we have done for ages, which is good, but the UK isn't dominating the world.

Nice to watch an event without staying up til 6am, I tell thee.

What current fighters besides AJ have taken over?

I think this is the major reasons English people feel the need to grind shit into Americans faces. Even if it does seem ridiculous.

I hope they understand.

I think we have taken over as the best nations other than the septics, and have been for the last 2-3 years. We may have a lot of champions but the US has numerous top 10 fighters in every weight class. we're not close to ruling boxing and probably never will be
