When did they stop disclosing fighters purses?

For the ppv's they used to disclose the fighters purses but for a couple of years now they stopped doing it. Does it have to do with WME buying the UFC?

As far as I know, it's a per state thing. It used to be mandatory in Nevada and as most big UFC events are done there, the purses were disclosed. It was not a PPV thing, Fight Night cards payout was disclosed as well. I think it was a year and a half or two years ago that it became non-mandatory to disclose purses in Nevada so obviously UFC opted not to do so.

I think purses have to be disclosed in New York, but events are done there like once a year or less maybe.

It's not a WME thing, UFC didn't disclose purses in places where it wasn't mandatory way before the buyout. I mean most businesses don't just disclose key data if it's not absolutely necessary.

i don't remember offhand the last time i saw the ufc discuss it but more importantly we aren't hearing every fighter complaining about getting paid peanuts. Strickland seemed more than willing to boast about his flat rate pay last fight and seemed completely content.

ufc has never disclosed fight purses. That has always been up to the athletic commission.

So commissions we’re supposed to disclose pay because of state laws that had them do so

But over the years the UFC has quietly been lobbying states that they frequent to change their laws. And many of them now have laws that allow for pay to remain secret.

It likely a response to all the controversy about fighter pay

However in more left leaning states like California the laws that disclose pay remain in tact so when the UFC does visit we do get to accurate pay numbers

New Jersey doesn't disclose.

People being curious of what others get paid is a weird obsession, people were crying about it wanting to know so bad what the fighters get paid. The athletics omitted a few years but it's depending on the states as others has mentioned.

If people are still nosey, curious and have no respect for fighters privacy for their financials, you can still ask them via social
media. I'm sure the fighters willfully let people know how much they get since the commissions use to put it out there.
