When did GSP surpass Silva?

GSP surpassed him in hindsight when he actually knew when to retire and time it well rather than the Brazilian old adage to never know when to call it quits.

(This happens a lot in futbol too)

GSP never busted for steroids and his resume is ultra stacked, one of the best Strength of schedule ever

A. Silva has a good Strength of schedule, but not nearly as loaded as GSP's. Also he's a proven Chester and simply lost too much

They were champs literally at the same time and Silva always was over GSP in the pound for pound rankings.

Now I see ppl taking GSP over Silva all time.

Is this because of the two Weidman fights and gsp winning a second belt?
When he started popping for banned substances.

In futbol? How so

*4 Irvin, Forrest, Bonnar, DC.
Oh shit, I completely spaced the DC fight. Good call.

Tbf Anderson had already fought Stiebling and Horn at openweight
They weighted over 200lbs.Anderson did at 183lbs.
Silva weighted way below the limit in Pride. People dont realize he barely cut weight for 185lbs when he became UFC champ

Always take the GSP path if you're a legend.

Retire when you're on top and tell ol' Dana to eat shit, he'll only try to use you to enhance other talent.

Like the great Uriah Hall.

Or if you're Jose Aldo, the unforgettable Aiemann Zawhat'shisname.

At the time Silva was ranked ahead of GSP, Silva was on a streak of brutal finishes while GSP was on a streak of decisions. Fair ranking in my opinion.

But then Silva got popped for PEDs and finished his career eating a bunch of punches. So fair to put GSP over him now.

Also, Diaz 1,2,5.

<goldie>

Silva beat then-P4P great Sakurai at WW. Looked better than *anyone* ever has at fighting during his elite MW run in Cage Rage and UFC. Entered the fucking Matrix against prime recent champion Griffin at LHW.
