I like werdum,I really do...but he is such an inconsistent performer. Some of his fights are just terrible, especially lately. His record is great, but he doesn't really show it out there sometimes, even in his prime,he sometimes fights like he is Stefan struve out there, and somehow picks up the win. Its hard for me to call a guy number 1 who is just another fight away from stinking up the octagon and possibly dropping a decision to a medicore fighter. If Werdum can recapture the UFC title someday, he'd have to be #1. (That's coming from a Fedor fan)
Fedor
Stipe
Randy
Werdum
Nog
Please elaborate. I don't recall Werdum ever being on the favourable side of a close decision. His 2 wins over Browne, and his recent win over Tybura were clear as day (He could've actually won every single round in the 3 fights I mentioned). His two decision losses to Overeem, and his loss to Arlovski could've easily been scored the other way.
The reem? come on.... the guy with no belt gonna be in top 5 best hw ever? nahhhhhh soooonnnnFedor
Werdum
Nog
Cain
The Reem maybe
I'd switch Couture with Cain, leave all else the same.
That's more a lifetime achievement award from me. He has incredible adaptability and longevity, very important aspects which Fedor, for all his talent, never had. Been fighting for 20 years, taken losses which would end the careers of less mentally tough guys, changed styles multiple times, moved organisations, stayed elite everywhere. The reem? come on.... the guy with no belt gonna be in top 5 best hw ever? nahhhhhh soooonnnn
What does longevity even mean if you don't even win the belt, never even once were the best at anything? Fedor was the best for almost a decade. Overeem has been knocked out in the double digits in two different divisions. I get why people like him,but I think his achievements on paper look more impressive than they actually are. That's more a lifetime achievement award from me. I don’t think so man look at his losses, only to HW greats. Plus he’s beaten Hunt by Ko, tapped Fedor, Nog, Reem and Cain. Granted Reem wasn’t uber Reem I just think Fabrício can’t beat the Reem anymore accept maybe in a 5 round fight. He has a solid chin for a Hw when he’s not rushing into the fire. I think Werdum is the goat based on his longevity of being a top fighter everyone else has fallen off. The only name fighters he’s lacking on his resume are Dos Santos, Stipe and a pride Cro Cop. Maybe Werdum has what it takes to beat Ngannou if he wins the belt. Werdum always surprises but never loses fights he’s suppose to win accept the Stipe fight but maybe Stipe is just betterI like werdum,I really do...but he is such an inconsistent performer. I can only give my impression, hes an all time great, but I cant say hes the best, but he certainly one of the most resilient. I just sometimes lose my confidence in him because of some his fights,im like man what are you doing1?!? hehehe I wish will see him fight JDS again. Even now that fight would be interestingI don’t think so man look at his losses, only to HW greats. Plus he’s beaten Hunt by Ko, tapped Fedor, Nog, Reem and Cain.
