I think Pereira drops Ankalaev with early kicks. Then he turns into panic wrestler and tries to bullrush takedown but gets faceplanted in progress.

Probably about the same as your face if Ank takes him down and lands some harsh GnP and then strangles Alex into submission in the first round.

BTW the term "Panic Wrestler" doesn't apply to someone who is a well rounded mixed martial artist. The term applies to Conor for example as he is a striker with no offensive wrestling, no submission game and he became a "Panic Wrestler" when he got lit up on the feet.

Ank is going to grapple if he isn't dumb. Even the threat of it will amplify he striking while diminishing Alex's. All this talk about guys have to stand and bang or they are cowards is simply an attempt to trick opponents into standing only with Alex. If that's what you want go watch Alex's kickboxing career. Go watch current kickboxing. Hardly any TDs I hear.

Panic wrestling is when you immediately start wrestling because something has gone wrong and you need to avoid the stand up.

If Ank's legs are taken out and he can't strike anymore and starts spamming tds for dear life, that would absolutely be panic wrestling.

And the stuff about trying to talk your opponent into standing only like a fool, well, Ank was saying from the start that he was going to stand and bang with Alex and KO him lol. Alex wasn't saying anything prompt that either. Ank was coming up with it on his own.

I only want to see great entertaining fight between 2 elites.
My only concerns are Ankalaev being most of the time gunshy and Pereira kinda slowing down - he had problems with non elite evolved Khalil - I know he had some kind of injury but we don't know how much it compromised him.

Well Poatan just fought a southpaw and had trouble establishing the leg kicks. I think his jab is gonna be more important here.

It isn't unlikely. I don't think we've seen Ank have an answer to leg kicks so far. I'll be more surprised if either of them gets flattened or tagged in the first couple of minutes.

His answer to leg kicks is to tie up, panic wrestle and maintain top position until the round ends.

If Ank says he is only going to stand and bang and then does so then that is dumb, just as dumb as Alex not training his TDD and submission defense because he believed him. Ank is not Khalil. Hopefully he mixes up his grappling and striking and gives Alex a real challenge.
