I tend to like girls with longer hair, although shorter can be OK too as long as it's not too masculine looking. The only one whose hair looks good to me in your example pics is Emma Watson. I guess her hair there is a happy medium between long and short that fans of both can appreciate.

She's past her prime in those pics. He obviously means when she was younger and cuter in the face and could still pull it off. There's kind of an age expiration with these things. If you give a little girl a short haircut, she looks like a boy. If you give a mature woman a short haircut, she looks like a man. If you give an exceptionally attractive young woman a short, yet feminine haircut, she may still be able to pull it off without looking boyish or mannish. I still prefer longer hair personally, but a prime Janine Turner, Halle Berry or Morena Baccarin can pull it off.
