What's Your Next Purchase? V5

to each his own I guess. To me the M17 looks more slender, and sleek.

When I see the desert-tech, it reminds me of a flying goose for some reason.

Truth be told I prefer the Tavor, which is why I own one (and love it). But you seemed to have your mind made up there. :)

I too find that M17 kinda ugly. I do like the mdr.

I sold a buddy at the office a PS90 a while back . . . seems to really like it. It's a pretty neat little rifle.

They are definitely fun. 50 round mags with no recoil is always good. Terrible trigger but you can get a surprisingly good rhythm down for quick bursts. My buddy is going to get his sbr'd and suppressed.

It I get a bullpup designed rifle it's going to be an MDR.

They are cool but I knownid realistically never do much with one. I hardly use any of my ARs any more.
That's the thing, most of my guns have a purpose. My current AR is set up as a home defense/SHTF AR... if I get a 300 Blackout I will get it as a pistol and then throw a suppressor on it to use that as a home defense option.

I have my Weatherby for hunting and the 6.5 I am going to try and build light to use as aprecision fun gun that worst cast I could drag along with me with the AR if needed.

There was a point backnin like 2009-10 where I was all about ARs and tacticool stuff, I just sort of got out of it. Maybe that will change at some point but like I said my ARs (3) rarely get used and that market is so flooded right now, there's really no reason to bother trying to sell them.

I have them in a snap on gun locker with like 3k rounds of ammo and tons of pmags. In fact when I got back to the states, even looking at all the guns we have, I didn't even look in the snap on locker.

Nosler releasing a new AR round, more details tomorrow. Hopefully that is with a bullet of 55+ gr.

I think I am into it because all my shooting friends minus my roommate and like another are all former military so running little drills with chest rigs, carriers, or gun rig belts is what I have gotten into.

That said, the thing I have always wanted to get into is long range shooting which is partially why I am doing this 6.5 Creedmoor build with an MDT LSS chassis.

Not sure how I feel given it says "swap your upper"

Same and mags. If it requires anything more than a barrel/bolt(maybe) swap the round will fail.

Long range shooting is really fun. I'm looking forward to getting back to it but I likely won't buy a new gun for it, I'll just use one of the 308s I have.

Sort of crazy how serious the long range game got in the past 5-10 years, I mean there's always been guys that were serious about it but now it's all chassis, 6.5, etc, etc. back when I dabbled in it it was probably like 95% Remington 700s that were modded a bit, almost always 308, bedding was big etc, etc.

I feel like if I showed up at a match with my m40 clone people would laugh.

Probably not, the most popular stock among the pros is manners. They might laugh it not being 6mm or 6.5 lol

My m40 has a mccmilan already but it's an a1. It just looks like a heavy barreled hunting rifle but with a camo stock. I guess it's retro. It's a GA precision m40.

My other one is just a 700sps tactical but in an hs precision stock....it's also a 308.

I'd love to do it as an M40 clone but what I've seen from Boyd's and such is you get the stock but there will always be a tiny amount of sanding and bedding you'll need to do to truly make the thing badass.

What I have read/seen of the MDT LSS you can basically just take your barrel and action, drop it in, screw it in to the proper torque level.. and then you're good to go.
