You know if you just want to get drunk you can drink liquor which saves you the embarrassment of drinking Natural Ice, right?
in the business i have tried almost every beer, wine, liquor, and you know what. It is all the same shit. If i want something for taste i will buy a pack of sour patch kids candy.

I'm on the Shane Gillis plan as far as drinking beer. Talking and hanging out I'll drink 10-12 Bud Lights no problem. However, as far as beer taste goes, I prefer Guinness over anything else.

If I am on a mission to get "fucked up", Vodka and juice is my go to...

Lagunitas Lucky 13, but it's not around anymore so I'll put Smog City California Love
Stone Buenaveza
Pliney the Elder
Brouwerij West Popfuji
Beachwood Brewery Mocha Machine

You been to beachwood? I’ve been meaning to go but haven’t made it yet. Citraholic is one of my fav local beers.

I’ve worked in the alcohol industry for like 7 years now, have drank tons of beer in that span. I’d say about 10 years ago I could give you a top 5 list with something like Russian River blind pig, stone enjoy by, Firestone parabola and Alesmith speedway stout. But now there’s a fuck ton of legit craft breweries and you can find beer just as good as those at any decent liquor store or bar. I just recommend to order something local cuz it’s probably fresh and if they’re independently distributed then they probably clean their tap lines and do some kind of quality control.

If you go to a sporting event that serves beer on draft I also suggest ordering a local craft beer. Anheuser bush and Miller/coors are fucking HORRIBLE at cleaning their taps at large venues. I’ve cleaned them before when replacing kegs and they’re fucking disgusting. You’re better off just buying tall cans.

Thankfully Founders decided to do KBS (and CBS which is also very good) year-round instead of seasonally so it's easy to find around here now. I really wanted to try Goose Island's barrel aged stuff but you simply can't get it here. Very few cases are sent this way and they're immediately bought up (I suspect by the shop owners TBH). Oberon and M-43 (which is easily my favorite IPA) are my two go-to beers during the Summer. I have to drive a bit to find Celebrator, but I absolutely love it. Edmund Fitzgerald is probably my favorite Porter and the beer I reach for in the colder months when I'm not up to paying $20~ for a 4-pack of the aforementioned offerings from Founders.
The Celebrator is pretty easy to find around here. Well, relatively. The two or three best beer shops have it. I was very happy to find that I have two bottles left, hiding in a lonely nook, from my holiday beer-build up. Tonight may be their doom. Sunday tops.
damn that sucks. Apparently that company purchased Alpine and Green Flash (two local SD breweries) and is shutting down all SD operations and moving them to like Atlanta. Sucks because my buddy works up at the Alpine location.
You're going to see a lot of that with brands that were close to national. They are either going to close, get bought up, or team up. You either need to be in every supermarket like Sierra Nevada, or keep it semi local imo. That middle ground is a hard place to live.
Green Flash management must be (or was, since I'm sure they're replaced now) poor, maybe just inexperienced. They built and opened a large -ish brewery here in my home town, with plans for it to anchor their east coast distribution. That went bust in just two years (another outfit uses that facility now. Here's an article about it. https://www.pilotonline.com/business/article_cd5f525e-30f8-11e8-a056-0b004ecb939f.html I guess the new owners are looking to get back on the east coast.

Are they closing the tap rooms or just moving production? Either way that sucks. The OG owners of alpine actually have a new brewery at the original location. I’ve been meaning to check it out.

Nah I wish. The Steelcraft in Garden Grove has a small Beachwood Tap room thing. I only went there cause my nephews were playing against GG that day.

At this point, the market is so saturated that unless you go to a liquor store/bottle shop that knows what they're doing you're better off getting beer straight from the brewery. The only liquor store that has a lot of craft beer in my town is run by people who don't understand craft beer.

Miller genuine draft
Coors original
Brava
Bud
Busch

I don't drink none of that fancy shit!

Asahi
Warsteiner
San Miguel
Birra Moretti
Tiger

Tyskie, Estrella and Cobra could make the list on another day.

Sucks that their seal beach location went under. Usually when I go to long Beach, I'll end up at the Congregation house instead of Beachwood.

I dont drink nearly as much as I used to but when I do I drink beer mostly. I like IPAs but not the shit you buy in the grocery story, I either get it from a specialty beer store or an actual brewery.
