He is the 2020-2021 slightly less polished version of 2012-2013 Chris Weidman.
Not great but decent enough everywhere and a bad match up for someone with not so great takedown defense and ground game.
Izzy has evolved faster than Anderson in regards to regards to TDD so he’ll be fine here. Izzy got out powered by Jan but I don’t think he will be vs Vetori (this time). Plus Vetoris technique isn’t advanced enough to make it a huge t

He's gonna throw his gameplan out the window in the first 5 minutes. Izzy has him (hook, line, and sinker) all in his feelings. I don't think this fight will make it to the 3rd.

He’s the new breed. Which mean he’s ok at everything. Excels at nothing isn’t horrible at anything. but he’s a dog and he’s tougher than most so he has that edge.

i agree somewhat with that comparison but weidman was significantly better at wrestling and grappling in general than Marvin.
maybe equal at best on the feet. But Vitorri uses the jab better which is the key to beating guys like adasanya. Jab double jabs and kick and wrestle from that.
so it’s about styles. Jan vs Israel was a close fight. Israel was never in any danger and I was surprised Israel walked him down and had no respect for jans power. Which in the end was his downfall as Jan implemented wrestling for Israel walking him down.
Jan isn’t a special fighter and neither is Marvin. They’re very good though. The style of this fight it should be interesting. If I had to put my money on a winner it would be adasanya. But Vitorri isn’t a guy you roll over.
the first fight was close. Vitorri wasn’t outclassed on the feet as he offset adasanya with a jab and double jab. It takes him out of his element. And it does with most guys in mma. But nobody really uses it
