What's the worst losing streak that a good fighter has come back from?

Arlovski lost 4 in a row between Affliction and Strikeforce and then made a good run that had people talking about him being close to a title shot.

Terunofuji's comeback in Sumo is one of the greatest comeback stories in combat sports history.

In MMA it's probably Hunt , Mir or Lawler.

Not MMA but I remember like 20 years ago there was a boxing champ (one of the 4 main ones but not considered the best) who lost basically all of his first 20 fights then won around 20 in a row. So he was champion with a .500 record. He apparently was just showing up for a paycheck as an opponent then got his life together and started training. I can't remember his name though.

The only answer. Mark Hunt was getting smashed by welterweights, middleweights and even Sherdog's own Sean McCorkle! The fact he was able to go from that title contention is unheard of.

Have we ever found out what exactly was off with him? That kind of career low and then redemption only seems to happen with PED's, or if a fighter is dealing with some serious addiction or mental issue outside of the cage, or one just shows up to collect a check. I don't think Hunto's transformation was the result of PED's, so I tend to believe there were mental issues behind the scene.

Hunt was vocal about depression after PRIDE ended. He didn't even fight for almost 2 years after and was just fighting for a check. He said he was playing video games more than training when he was in DREAM.
