I did 45 min each way when I worked for Tesla and it was rough but tolerable. Back in the day, my girl and I had just moved into a new apartment and my boss at my contracting company wanted me to take a management job at Wells Fargo in downtown SF. I already had a good tech job but that paid a little more. It would have been like a 2 hour commute. My boss didn't understand why I wouldn't even consider it. I wanted nothing to do with commuting to downtown SF daily.I'd say 45 min max.
Any longer than that is a drag.
But roughly it takes me about 30 min to go to work.
Did that for over a year covering 130 km each way .I've done 1 hour 45mins, never again.

Man I miss taking the jubilee line to central.I was stuck on public transport, with 3 changes, whilst I could sort of relax a bit it was never long enough between changes to get comfortable and that's if you got a seat, real problem was the long term health problems it can cause....... Because yeah public transport better for environment just not your health....

It's a necessity where we live but nearly came unstuck a few months ago. Husband was employed as a remote worker during Covid. We relocated as did 80% of his team, then the company asked everyone to start working from the office in San Francisco which was a 7 hour drive on a good day. It worked out okay with a new company WFH again but a bit of a worry all the same.I did one hour and wouldn't do it again. I guess I'd do 30 minutes. Man, I love working from home.
