In terms of sheer raw graphics beauty, I remember when Crysis 1 was at the top of the top, what is it right now?

Probably Star Wars: Battlefront with realism mods.

Battlefront is really good but Arma 3 still blows me away, you just feel the sense of scale like no other in that game.

Ark:

Arma 3:

others: Ryse: Son of Rome, Overwatch, GTA5, Watchdogs, Witcher 3, Metal Gear 5, Shadow Warrior

Dayz is looking pretty damn good lately with the implementation of the new renderer. Also a perfomance increase, in some areas more than double what I was getting previously. (currently on experimental branch)

Very good mentions, Ark looks phenomenal. Doom looks OK. Dayz looks like fallout and Arma 3? I'm gonna watch some videos. I just watched Deus Ex, that looks nice but seems to be using a plain engine.

Arma 3 looks and runs like shit. Awful engine.

I think "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" deserves a mention. But the other games mentioned are all really good looking, not sure I could pick one.

DayZ is made by the same company (Bohemia interactive) who made ArmA 3. It's similar to fallout with it being set in a post apocalyptic scenario. However, the game is a sandbox multiplayer with the only AI being the zombies and wildlife.

The game is currently in Alpha and has been in a very clunky state for a while because of it using the old ArmA 2 engine/renderer. The developers have been creating a new engine (Enfusion) which will be used in DayZ and upcoming Bohemia interactive games. With the recent implementation of the new Enfusion engine the game is starting to evolve into a more enjoyable and playable experience. Currently the new engine is only on the DayZ .60 experimental branch but it should be on the stable branch in the upcoming weeks. Also, with the Enfusion engine we will see the implementation of the new player controller and animations which will bring the game even closer to its completion.

A good idea would be to wait until the Enfusion engine is pushed from experimental to the main stable patch. That way you can experience the game with the first interation of the new engine, instead of roughing it with the clunky old one. :)

This video will give you an idea of the experience you can get from DayZ.

Crysis still looks pretty damn good with all the realism mods.

The Witcher 3.

I have to disagree but I'll let the audience decide. My vote is a modded GTA V. There have been a few times where I loaded it up after several brews and/or puffs and I was freakishly immersed.

I'll share some of my personal screenshots at 4K Ultra settings. No trickery, no orchestration, just random F12 keys. And I play with a 360 controller most of the time so it's not always easy to capture the best moments.

GTA V and The Witcher 3 are the top dogs when it comes to visuals. Star Wars: Battlefront is definitely up there as well.

Artistically-speaking, though, I absolutely love DOOM.

Dooms looks insane on Ultra. It's hard for me to believe it's real at times.

Arma 3's graphics really aren't appreciated without the context of video; the reason is that the thing that tends to set Arma 3 apart (as it is ran on high-end rigs) is the view distance-- it's insane, and the levels are designed deliberately to be massive so you can appreciate it. It gives the environment an immediate feeling of scope not present in games like BF4 (or even Planetside 2). Winston is the first gamer I've ever heard opine otherwise.

I will have to check on it out on Youtube, I thought it was some sort of Day-z thing lol

Warhammer total war is pretty damn good looking for the type of game it is. Zoomed in the soldiers look more detailed than character models in console 1st person shooters, and you command thousands of them.

Doom may not be the best looking game, but it is probably one of the best optimized games at launch ive played in a long time.
