Social What's something most people won't realize will kill you in seconds?

good point, after MJ died, Drew Pinski made that point about how stars get over treated. Wierd thing, Elvis, Prince and MJ all started craving something for every twinge, some of the problems truly painful but insomnia, or a pick me up after downers etc.., not in that category.
Even for a normal person doctors are way too easy with the pain meds. That is how 1 gets addicted. Taking a pain pill for something minor. Then spiraling out. Doctors can make money every step of your life if you let them. They always find something but yes if u got symptons of something major check it out but dont get talked into a weekly visit. Dentists are the worst at this they always find something new which is why i tell them i want to fix that specific thing that bothers me a lot and not some little hole it took you 3 visits to even notice.

ya, capitalism is sick. I don't know if or how docs make money by prescribing but I recently went to my doc, great doc, but I haven't understood some of her recent treatments. Fortunately, she's able to adjust and accomodate for me. I don't want to be on 50 different medicines, and although I'll take a vax here and there, I'm not taking every shot known to man. You can do a lot of things for your health, not every single one is needed and many of them will certainly end up with a downside that isn't worth it.

Its just human nature. In communism the doctor will want a little bribe to treat you well. My home country used to be and it didnt make people better. Doctors get money on the side to prescribe certain meds its a whole industry selling the doctor on the meds the company 1 works for.

Some of the things docs do are just plain vile. They have no excuse for being ignorant or stupid because they aren't.

Asphyxiation from hydrogen sulfide in underground or enclosed spaces. I saw a video of a dude climb down a vat in a sewage processing plant and as soon as he got a few rungs down the ladder he passed out and fell in to the sludge.

There are countless stories of sewer and utility workers dying from it. Shit is no joke.
What makes it so deadly? You don't notice it until its already too late or how does this work?

PTO shafts; they will wreck you in instant. I knew a number of guys growing up who were missing limbs from them and heard many stories of farmers who were killed by them.

Umm, air conditioners don’t and can not create carbon monoxide. Not sure where you got that from. I think being sure you turn off your oven is a better tip than leaving windows open all night. Leaving your windows open isn’t really helpful at anything beyond fresh air. Its not something thats going to save your life.

Not to mention that open windows could leave your home more exposed to an intruder

These guys that split lanes at 80mph+ on a motorcycle. I'm all about riding but not like that

I talk shit to them all the time, and I ride. Gives us all a bad rep.

madness, it's like they are just as cocky though, riding down the middle of the lane, past a traffic jam. I ain't mad at 'em, but struck by the irony of how not only motorcyclists but also pedestrians and bicyclists seem to overcompensate for their lack of protection by doing the opposite of what they should do. I don't get it.
I'm all for splitting lanes in a traffic jam as long as it's done slowly with control. A lot of bikes are air cooled and cannot sit in a traffic jam in July. I also wish it was legal here to split lanes at a red-light. It's safer for the rider to be between cars then potentially blend in behind a car, not be seen, then blasted by an idiot that was texting.

Heart issues. Had a family friend who was in his early 60's. A little overweigh but not obese. No family or personal history of heart disease. He stopped by Target on his way home from work to get a few things. Had a massive heart attack right in the store. Examiner said he most likely never knew what happened and he was gone before he ever hit the floor. Terrifying.

Yes, it is definitely safer at a red light to funnel to the front, and safer when it is the law to lane split. Though I live and ride in states where it is not, so nobody is accustomed to it, so it is not safer here to do while going 20mph and above. I wish it were legal, and they would tell people to watch out for it, but as it stands now, it is certainly bad practice to split lanes here.
