He had the toughest possible welcome to the UFC, and all things considered put on a solid showing. Where does he go from here? Who would you like to see him fight next? Were you imprezzed by his performance?

Personally I gave him a 6.5 / 10

Tagir Ulanbekov or Tim Eliott seem to me like two great choices. Both ranked top 10 and will test Asakuras grappling.

I was going to say "Damn bro he was good enough to get a title shot right off the bat, and now you want him to fight all the way down to Tim Elliot?"

Then I looked up the rankings and noticed Asakura is now #14?!?!? What the fuck, did they have him at like 8th or 9th coming into that fight? Why are they doing him so dirty knocking him so far back?

I dont think they had him ranked at all and Im pretty sure he got ranked of his L against Pantoja. I only suggested Tagir and Elliott cause I want to see if Asakura has worked on his grappling. Hes an entertaining fighter but its pretty evident his grappling and TDD has holes he needs to work on if he's going to be taken seriously as a contender. Tagir and Elliott or even Allan Nascimento are good tests.

Well what other fight is there to make for him?

Give him that Perez guy once he's healed up (it's been 7-8 months now) for what should be a win, then maybe winner of Asu-Erceg?

Let's not treat him like he's fully established or before we know it he'll be 0-2/3 and most UFC fans/casuals will write him off entirely.

Charles Johnson maybe? That would be an entertaining fight that Kai has a good chance of putting up a highlight. Perez makes sense as well if he's going to be ready to fight soon the injury against Taira was nasty

UFC will give him a tough matchup. He loses. Another tough one he loses a split decision and he disappears into thin air.
