Moving to HW boxing and going to a split decision against the HW champ in Francis' first boxing match is going to blow anything including Izzy fight out of the water, and it isn't even in the same ballpark.

The fact that Alex got to the LHW title without a grappler to challenge him would have been surprising at any point from 5 to 20 years ago. Not one year ago though, we already knew LHW was defunct.

The fact Fury walks around feeling like he deserved the win is one of the more delusional things i've ever seen in my life.

I think the bigger shock was Francis making the fight competitive. Francis having the “punchers chance” with the power he carries isn’t really shocking at all.

It was 100% more shocking to see Izzy lose on the feet against Sean the way he did vs a simple knockdown. I would say Francis doing as well as he did was the shocking part that’s more comparable to Izzy - Sean. A little part of me still thinks that wasn’t the best or most prepared Fury out there for a crossover fight so I favor the Izzy upset more. I mean the way he wedged it between a major fight makes me think he was that focused on it. Let’s see how Francis does in his next outing first. Still how well he did is quite shocking vs a simple knockdown that’s didn’t do that much really (I have the expectation of him putting someone down and then staying down).

As many have said, 1 and 5 are close and then everything else is very far down. I'm not surprised at the Bellator situation at all.

Then striking out on Vadim, pitbull, McKee etc was surprising to me. UFC is the premier org they should have made a run at some of those guy. Gooch is trying to come back to ufc too

I'm actually kind of surprise Francis even got the Fury fight. Once announced, I truly thought Fury would work over Francis pretty early and Franicis would more or less gas out and he'd be heading back to MMA.

Strickland somehow managing to grind out a decision, even find a sub, or EVEN catching a perfect shot and putting out a wars-torn Izzy, I could believe. Outstriking Izzy would have been completely unbelievable to me, even moreso than crazy Fury taking a break fight against the UFC champ. Once that was booked, the idea that he COULD knockdown Fury, and the idea that he'd get the AJ fight if he did well against Fury wouldn't be too hard to believe.

All in all, those 2 events are crazy. None of the others were unbelievable

Ngannou dropping Fury never seemed that crazy to me since Wilder who can't box did it several times.
Hate to be that guy but Ngannou has kinda exposed modern HW boxers. Not saying 90's HWs would beat them because the modern guys are so much bigger but with the exception of Usyk they're just not that skilled.
