What we've learned from Sherdog

Gotta agree with number 1. (insert current heavyweight champion) is the greatest boxer, wrestler etc. on the planet and will be champ for a long time and is the GOAT. 70% of the heavies think in this manner and then jump to the next fighter when their pick loses.

True.

When Cain beat Brock = GOAT
When JDS beat Cain = GOAT
When Cain beat JDS = GOAT

Yeah, they're probably affected by Rogan's commentating. Practically every time a fighter walks to the cage:

1. "He has world class <insert artform>"
2. "Guys at the gym have been talking about how he is so <insert ability>"
3. "I was talking with <insert hall of famer> and he said this kid is <insert positive quality>"

After said fighter loses:
"This is the best <insert name of winner> we've seen. WOW."
"This just goes to show how good <insert name of winner here> is."

Hear that so many times about so many fighters, when one beats another he's bound to be an ATG. I could probably write a UFC mad libs.

Ah yea I remember in the Cruz vs Faber TUF Finale, Rogan was praising how elite Justin Lawrence was in kickboxing. He has a title from the IKF and Rogan was trying to make it seem like the guy was world class. I mean he was good but not what Rogan made him out to be.

I like Rogan as a commentator and he taught me a lot about the technical aspects of mma when I started watching it but he is repetitive. If you play his commentary for the last few UFC events, they will all be in sync except for the names of the fighters, LOL just kidding.

I'd like to see Rogan say the opposite of what he usually says, it would be refreshing. "...coming to the ring right now. He looks FREAKED OUT. Randy Couture told me he hasn't been doing shit in the gym, that they have to drag him in everyday. Everyone at the gym says this guy has terrible conditioning. He would walk on the treadmill and collapse after 5 minutes. This guy's BJJ is even more horrible. I think he got his blackbelt from McDonald's. He's the guy you hear about at the gym just getting DESTROYED. Look at his body, what a fat slob."

He definitely does not have that look in his eye tonight folks

Dogs don't need art, so they're not missing anything.

Dogs do judge, they judge the things that are important. They decide if you are friend or foe, food or not food. People judge the most ridiculous things that aren't relevant in live, by that they make it more difficult for their selves and other people.

You don't create art because someone else needs it, you do it to express who you are as an individual. Dogs don't contribute because they can't, not because they don't "need it."

And sorry, that's not judging, that is animal instinct at its most simplistic. -And now you're just trying to save your argument by stating what people do instead of what dogs cant do.

Some people have the need to express themselves through art then. Need is just a strong wanting, nothing more. Dogs have just no use for it. They can be happy without art. Just like we can be happy without a tail, but from a dogs perspective we are missing out.

It is judging. Very simple. And it's not just instinctive, it is also concious. I don't know how familiar you are with dogs, because discussing dog behavior on here with people that aren't dog or animal persons has shown to be a futile. Because althpugh they know the don't have much experience with/knowledge about dogs they still think the know better. But if you do have a lot of experience I would be glad to continue this subject.

Don't make this a dog thread though, take it to the PM or make another thread.

I just shown that I have no interest in discussing the subject with someone who isn't a dog person, so you don't have to worry. If he is, which I doubt, it won't derail the thread.

I kinda regret being the guy who started the dog rant

I've learnt that if one posts a vid of themselves sparring, shadow-boxing or working the bag in the Standup subforum, they will be mercilessly ridiculed by people who may not have ever trained.

Then Sinister comes along and puts everyone in their place :icon_chee
