And generalization can be done accurately when based on facts and data, and backed with evidence. If getting angry about other people cutting their hair is not whining, I don't know what is.

I've seen speculation that he suffered a brain injury after a motorcycle accident which dramatically altered his personality.

Same thing happened to Hollywood actor TJ Miller. He was expected to be Hollywood's next golden boy with parts in Deadpool and Silicone Valley, then had surgery on his brain which turned him into a nightmare to be around and has barely had roles ever since.

Brain injuries are very interesting, they are scary.
I had a close friend who was in a horrific car crash that resulted in him being in a coma for a week and required surgery on his brain.
He came out of it and eventually recovered, but he was a completely different person personality wise. It’s as if his social filters had been completely removed, especially when we would go out drinking, even a little alcohol would spin him out into a crazy personality shift, which he never had a problem with prior.

Anyway, I agree with what you’re saying here. It very well could be that.
