What single fight would have changed UFC history the most if the opposite outcome happened?

There is zero possible way to objectively score that fight for Whittaker……Ludicrous

Not ludicrous at all. Look back at how others judged the fight as they watched it. There are people who scored that fight for Whittaker. Not saying Adesanya winning is a crazy thought but the fight could be scored for Whittaker. It's been awhile but I remember 4 and 5 being Whittaker rounds and 1 through 3 being Adesanya rounds but round 2 was close.

What created that confusion was Rob's takedowns. Israel outstruck him the whole fight and the TDs were fairly mute, no great danger or damage came from them.

One of the judges scored it 49-46...

No way Whittaker won that.

I’m sure there are more consequential fights, but..

Imagine if Nick Diaz finished GSP

jones vs gustafsson/cormier
lesnar vs couture
wandy vs sakuraba
royce vs. sakuraba

Aldo was the start, but it was actually Mcgregor vs Alvarez, if Alvarez wins then most opportunities vanishes for Mcgregor, no Mayweather fight, no champ champ era, he wasnt going back to FW anyway, but would had gotten lost in the rankings at LW, even if he manages to get the belt eventually things wouldnt be the same at all.

Tito beating Chuck.

Chuck was the face that helped make the UFC mainstream... the OG Rockstar.

The correct answer is actually Teila Tuli/Gerard Gordeau.

Had it been Tuli landing the clean face kick against a defenseless Gordeau, we'd have seen the first death in the octagon during the very first match! Sport would have been cancelled in 1993!

If Vitor ended up snapping Jon Jones arm.

If Chael never got caught at the end by Anderson.

If Carwin would've finished Brock.

Chael winning was gonna freeze the division for about one year since they would probably give silva a rematch to avenge the NC, since Chael popped after the fight

I’ll start, Aldo KO’s McGregor in 13 seconds.

-McGregor doesn’t become the mega star which helped bring the UFC firmly into the main stream.

-McGregor doesn’t usher in the double champion era, which for better or worse changed fighter aspirations shifting away from defending the title.

-Khabib doesn’t become nearly as big of a name without this rivalry and the Dagestani presence in the sport likely isn’t as prevalent.

-Nate Diaz doesn’t become as big of a name. The BMF belt doesn’t happen and Masvidal doesn’t become as big of a name either.
The ripple effect from DC>Jones 1 would have been pretty wild.

Carlos Condit nearly finished GSP
It would've been an avenue for Hendricks to win the belt and GSP would be back to the drawing board. He'd probably not be in position to challenge Bisping

Condit almost won against Lawler too. Sadly either title win would've paid dividends for his life.

The Aldo/Conor fight is definitely a good shout. Shit, even if Conor had still won but in less dramatic fashion he wouldn't have skyrocketed to the same level of megastardom that he did. It all went perfectly for the UFC.

I'll add on to this one. If RDA had a better weight cut, he likely would have steamrolled Eddie and then Conor. Hard to say what could have happened.

Against randy?
Yes. Brock grabbed the cage to prevent getting taken down and reverse Randy which completely altered the fight. The strike that eventually dropped Randy, while not intentional, hit Randy in the back of the head which is not legal.

The head strike I can live with because what were they going to do, restart the fight? It was unintentional like Brock's 1st fight against Mir but the cage grab still pisses me off because if Randy had gotten the takedown, Brock's cardio might have let him down. We'll never know
