Ever remember something but don't remember how you remember it

I remember YEARS and maybe even a decade or two ago I was watching some show. It was set in midevil times I believe when everyone fought each other with swords and shields and so on , castles

But one character was immortal or something and sad about it. He burned down his whole village and killed everyone in an attempt at suicide but he survived and rose from the ashes and was even more sad cause he really couldn't die.

OR maybe his village was burnt down with him in it, but either way he was in the heart of the fire and survived and was all mopey

Actually i think you've got them mixed up. Conor McCloud got stabbed and recovered. Duncan McCloud survied the fire if I remember correctly.
