What rules do you miss?

I’ll start with a few.

no strikes with a closed fist. Nothing looks worse than a guy taking 25 unblocked punches to the face only to shake it off like nothing happened. Everyone has seen a real fight or at least UFC. Chops, forearms, European uppercuts are all fine.

No throwing over the top rope. This used to be a DQ. Now a guy takes a half hearted toss over the top, lands on his feet then collapses like he landed on a hand grenade. Or in the case of 2018 Roman reigns, lays on the ground for 75% of the triple threat match.

Not hating on Roman. I’m hating on the booking. There are many ways to buy time besides getting dumped over the top such as eating a finisher on the outside, table chair or gimmick spot, double team, outside interference etc. I just wish they respected the fan enough to give us something believable. Roman isn’t the only one, I just remember there was a time where it happened with him a lot.

tag rope, and tag rules in general.

used to be you had to have the rope to make the tag, you could only come in untagged to break a pin or submission, but now they're largely free for alls.

I'm not an AEW hater, I want them to do well, but they're historically bad about this stuff when it comes to tag matches, so much so that their own guys have admitted they need to do better.

it isn't just them, though, it's bad everywhere, takes the appeal from the matches in my opinion.

A mate and i were talking bout some things that just disappeared. Good mention of the tag rope and open hand strikes. Ref used to warn then to keep it open.

You never see anyone get strangled with camera wires etc now. Due to the near fuck up I take it, forgot the incident?

Refs are all pussies now, they used to get in wrestlers faces.

I know where more but my heads not cooperating at the moment.

I think tag partners breaking up pins needs to be policed better. Wasn’t there an actual limit on saves at one point?

On the same note, it always kills me how pins get broken up. Guy A is pinning guy B. Guy C can break this up by clubbing A on the back, despite B’s shoulders still being down. If the guy making the pin is on top, the ref should keep counting.

HiaC was fine even w/o Taker, it's just that now it's watered down.

It should be a feud ender, people should BLEED, and one or all of the participants should be off TV for a bit following the match selling the damage...

...a sick high spot from the Cell is cool but not totally needed. Brutality should be key.

Nowadays it's turned into a fucking afterthought or a prop...
