I agree Conor McGregor is one of a kind. First, he calls himself the king of the UFC, yet apparently has no ground game. Second, the guy taps right away. Holm went completely out before she would tap to the same choke. Conor tapped faster than most.
So yeah, McGregor is unique. What a guy.
I support Dana. There are plenty of guys who bring more than Conor McGregor to the cage.

Conor talks a lot of shit and he got a lot of holes on the ground, but he delivers in the cage.
 
Of course I'm stirring the pot. But as a PPV customer for 20 years, I gotta side with Dana. How can he let McGregor talk this shit without taking a stand?
 
That does make him unique that he could rise this far up the food chain in the UFC with no ground game, no wrestling, no grappling, and no grinders heart. Which is a lesson for the next big thing make sure you have your fight game fully in check, you don't want to be so far out in front only to get your shorts pulled down when it's discovered you have gaping holes in your fight game.

Being good ( saying outlandish things ) on the mic and UFC running with it Is what made him this popular. Fans ate it up and jumped aboard the hype train. I agree his ground game is seriously lacking compared to other top fighters. He is decent but no where near as good as his fans ( and himself ) think he is. Highly unlikely he ever gets to hold the 155lb belt and I still can't believe people actually thought he had a chance at winning the 170lb belt and wanted him to face Robbie Lawler.
 
Oh, one other thing that makes him "special..."
He apparently has Phil Baroni's cardio.
